Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1240452
intro
You broke her heart
But i couldn't blame you
I played a part
So could i hate you? (yeah, look)
How could i?

verse
Been a while since we last spoke
Hope you're still doin' fine (hope you're still doin' fine)
Should've called you sooner, i was just scared to speak my mind (scared to speak my mind)
You'll probably hear this in time (you'll probably hear this in time)
I write things when i think of you
So i had to put these feelings down, didn't want to but i needed to
Didn't want you but i needed you
I was too scared to see it through
I ignored all the signs, i was too blind to see how i treated you
And i wish i could go back to the first week of them summer nights
June 6th was the day i felt like we probably met in another life
But i was too scared to end up like my parents, young and not happy (parents, young and not happy)
My mom was only nineteen, livin' on her own when she had me (livin' on her own when she had me)
Used to sleep on a mattress, watch the struggle shit, but i love her for it
She thinks i'm scared of love but i use excuses to cover for it, damn (i use excuses to cover for it, damn)
I should've bought you roses, i should've bought you diamonds (i should've bought you diamonds)
Remember the day i met you, we made each other a promise (made each other a promise)
Yeah, that no matter what, we would be together
I know they say love is blind but now we don't even see each other 'cause (don't even see each other 'cause)

chorus
You broke her heart
But i couldn't blame you
I played a part
So could i hate you?
How could i?
You broke her heart
But i couldn't blame you
I played a part
So could i hate you?
How could i?
