Rowlan - Never Last

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1254386
verse 1: verum
I'd tell you you should go but you'd never leave
I said the writing's on the wall but you could never read
And deep down i'd be down to die wit cha
I wish that i could let you go from me
And there you are
Still looking fine as ever
I wanna lie in your petals
You're like a flower in weather
That none survive i know
(i know, i know, i know, i know)
Yeah
Think i see the day coming
Probably need to say something
Probably need some space huh
Beat it like a bass drum
Promised me you not the one for games but you play dumb
My future with you getting too blurred for me to gauge huh
Kinda like those nights we drank away until the day come
Finally accepting that the only substance me and you had shared was not between us
It was just the kind you take so you can wash away the pain huh
Everything has changed huh

chorus: verum
Only time i love you is the times i say i'm sorry
Only times you miss me when you drunk at someone's party
And me and you, our memory's too good
Think we living in the past
That's why i know this shit won't ever last
Only time i love you is the times i say i'm sorry
Only times you miss me when you drunk at someone's party
And me and you, our memory's too good
Think we living in the past
That's why i know this shit won't ever last

verse 2: rowlan
I never thought this shit would last
I actually kinda knew we'd crash
I actually kinda knew you'd spazz
Walking through your brutal past
Trauma left and right
So you don't fight fair
Yo how this turn from me dreaming
Straight to a nightmare
When i was always right there
Off in your distance
Religiously like you christian
But then you don't have beliefs
And there ain't nothing underneath
It took a fuck or two to tell me that
Don't blame me
You like it average
So i'm done with that
They ain't me
We went from faded
To the now i know we fading
To the little games you playing
To the toxins you were saving
For those nights and all those days when
We would come to a conclusion
You were fucking with a winner
How'd you really end up losing
God damn

chorus: rowlan
The only time you answer
When i text you that i'm sorry
And only time i catch you's
If i show up in the lobby
Our memories were good
Just as much as they were bad
My intuition always told me
That this shit would never last
Only time you answer
When i text you that i'm sorry
And only time i catch you's
If i show up in the lobby
Our memories were good
Just as much as they were bad
My intuition always told me
That this shit would never last
Never last

verse 3: verum
We both saw the signs but you played it like you was blind
And the irony of it all you was giving up all your time
And your energy to a guy instead of looking me in my eyes
And just telling me to my face you was over it
Had to watch you fall from grace, the former angel a snake
And i wish that i was more ready for when the cobra bit
Ready like that moment i knew what i had to do
Cuz i knew that you wasn't true and you ain't notice it
Pulling back my heart where you can't reach because you'd broken it
And now i got my foot up on the gas
Father please forgive me if i crash
You said that you love me
I think you only love the shit that feels new
That's why i knew that shit we had would never last
Never last

chorus: verum
Only time i love you is the times i say i'm sorry
Only time you miss me when you drunk at someone's party
And me and you, our memory's too good
Think we living in the past
That's why i know this shit won't ever last

Thomas Rowland (born March 18, 1993), known professionally as Rowlan, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer. Born in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Rowlan initially gained recognition through putting out a remix to Mac Miller’s “Nikes On My Feet”. The song did over 500,000 total streams over its’ first three years of being released, with over 100,000 views on the visual via his Youtube channel. He since has put out 100+ songs in single and EP format much of which has helped him gradually build a cult like following with his fans. Rowlan moved to LA at age 22 to pursue his music career from a small town, with hopes to build connections, and meet creatives on a similar path. He later that year met his producer/engineer Cesar Moreno, and got connected with Mike Wingless to produce his first record to bypass a million Spotify streams (4.1m) with “Hold It Down”. He went on to make tracks “Why”, “Champ”, and “Stories” which all passed the million streams on Spotify. In 2017 internet sensation, GaryVee found interest in Rowlan and had a sit down with him, which then led to Rowlan making Gary’s theme song “Born Hustler”, the Hustler’s anthem. Self taught recording, producing, mixing, mastering, graphic designing, Rowlan started heavily focusing on being able to work at every piece of his brand so deadlines would just become sleep, or no sleep.

Rowlan is fully independent as of July 2021.
