Chance Emerson - Sunchaser

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1468494
Chorus
If I ran faster then
Towards the sunset in the west
Around the globe across the seas
Would time stand still?
I’d never sleep to keep this up
Chasing time zones, beating dusk
Just to freeze us in this moment, sunchaser

Verse
An hourglass, our hands clasped
The second hand moves half as fast
Cherry stems on my aging plaster floor
I never knew you wanted this
Until your tongue parted my lips
Dimly lit by a cheap lamp by my door

Pre-Chorus
Guess this memory’s an ocean
And I’m drinking it down
You’d be shocked if I told you
What I’d give just to drown

Chorus
If I ran faster then
Towards the sunsеt in the west
Around the globе across the seas
Would time stand still?
I’d never sleep to keep this up
Chasing time zones, beating dusk
Just to freeze us in this moment, sunchaser

Verse
It’s just a room, it’s just a place
It’s just a thought, barely a trace
But for a moment it was all we ever were
Where we’d live when we’d die
The future collapsed to you and I
One path until the first fistful of dirt

Pre-Chorus
Guess this memory’s an ocean
And I’m drinking it down
You’d be shocked if I told you
What I’d give just to drown

Chorus
If I ran faster then
Towards the sunset in the west
Around the globe across the seas
Would time stand still?
I’d never sleep to keep this up
Chasing time zones, beating dusk
Just to freeze us in this moment, sunchaser

Bridge
Just a trace of what was once
Smell of your laundry, tastes of lust
Brings me back to that college apartment
Stumbling into love
It’s kind of strange that’s what you wrote
How fast it passed, staccato note
Take me honestly, just take me somewhere
That I used to know

Chorus
If I ran faster then
Towards the sunset in the west
Around the globe across the seas
Would time stand still?
I’d never sleep to keep this up
Chasing time zones, beating dusk
Just to freeze us in this moment, sunchaser
