Derek Pope - Nothing Changed

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1625912
Chorus
Too many plates gone
Fed all the fake ones
To the equation
Can’t relate
Too many faces
Too many shapeshift
Gimme the basics
Nothing changed
Nothing changed

Verse 1
Just the way that they look at me in vain
Things are good but, shit got strange
Money eyeballed hearts’ll change

Chorus
Too many plates gone
Fed all the fake ones
To the equation
Can’t relate
Too many faces
Too many shapeshift
Gimme the basics
Nothing changed
Nothing changеd

Bridge
What’s the cost
Memories that I lеft in this vault
Makes me wonder if it’s really my fault
All that pain and I never clicked the lock

Verse 2
Let’s see
I remember every phone call right before we grieved
I remember getting passed on, each and every team
I remember out in Florida shipping zips of Cali trees
In a box of Fruity P’s just so I could finally breathe
What’s that make me
Barricaded my mind come and take it
Step inside, step inside, for your safety
Look alive when they look at you so gravely
Lately it’s been hard to trust
There’s no park bench when it comes to part of us
We went far enough, ain’t it obvious
That the phantom all along in the audience

Derek Pope is a musician who has taken the road less traveled in pursuit of his unique sound. Born and raised in Oakland, California, Pope discovered his passion for music at a young age. In high school, he delved into beat production, spending countless hours perfecting his craft and laying the foundation for what would become his signature sound.

It wasn't until 2015 that Pope decided to experiment with singing, a decision that would ultimately lead him to redefine his musical style. After creating a few demos, Pope realized that he had stumbled upon something special. His lyrics, particularly the line "Looking at the ceiling, thinking I could make a million," resonated with listeners and set the stage for what was to come.

In 2015, Pope released his debut EP, Sunken City Redux, which featured the hit single "Raincoats." The track showcased Pope's ability to seamlessly blend elements of indie rock, pop, and trap, creating a sound that was uniquely his own. With his self-produced beats and introspective lyrics, Pope has managed to carve out a niche for himself in the music industry, pushing the boundaries of what is considered mainstream.

Derek Pope's music is a reflection of his journey as an artist, constantly evolving and challenging the status quo. With each new release, he continues to push the envelope and defy expectations, solidifying his place as a rising star in the music world.
