Copied!edit Lyrics

Verse
Tryna fight them demons off thinkin' suicide to run away from that battle
Fell down so many times had my heart broke had me feelin' so fragile
Where I'm from it's a horror movie and 'em scary scenes ain't no changing that channel
Judge giving out life you feel that devastation hear the bang of that gavel
Enslaved in that system nigga gotta wake up just to break from them shackles
I was fighting so many cases thought I'd never see all the places I travelled
Out the county hit the ground running then I took off and got away from that struggle
I just pull up just flex on 'em big bag on me got me making a muscle
Tired of going through the same things had to grind hard I got restless in the hood
Tryna get it got arrested in the hood, I remember we was never understood
Now I'm counting my blessings living good, young nigga well respected in the hood
I came up from nothing put the gang on the map so they named me a legend in the hood

Biography

edit bio
Taurus Tremani Bartlett, known by his stage name Polo G, was born on January 6th, 1999 in Chicago. Growing up in the Cabrini-Green district, specifically the Marshall Field Garden Apartments, Polo G was no stranger to the harsh realities of street life in the city. He faced the loss of friends and loved ones, as well as the looming threat of jail time, all of which heavily influenced his music.

Using rap as an outlet to cope with the violence and tragedy he experienced, Polo G began releasing tracks on SoundCloud and YouTube in 2017. His raw and emotional style quickly gained him a following, especially in his hometown of Chicago.

Polo G's breakout moment came with the release of his song "Finer Things" in August 2018, which he wrote while incarcerated. This, along with the Lil Tjay collaboration "Pop Out," propelled him into the mainstream. His debut album, Die a Legend, reached number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and solidified his status as a rising star.

Following the success of his debut album, Polo G released his sophomore album, THE GOAT, in 2020. The album performed exceptionally well commercially and featured hits like "Go Stupid" with Stunna 4 Vegas and NLE Choppa. Polo G used his music to address important social issues, such as the Black Lives Matter movement, drawing from his own experiences with systemic racism.

In June 2021, Polo G completed the trilogy of his first three studio albums with the release of Hall of Fame. The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, boosted by the success of his hit single "RAPSTAR" and a lineup of star-studded features.

Polo G's music continues to resonate with fans for its raw honesty, emotional depth, and social commentary. He has established himself as a standout artist in the rap scene, drawing on his personal experiences to create music that is both compelling and impactful.
