Time - Dream Investigator

original text at lyrnow.com/1938333
He met an old woman who interpreted dreams
He walked to her chair through a curtain of beads
A cloud of myrrh incense traveled the room
He took a deep breath to dissipate the doom
She looked at the lines in his palm like a riddle
She said you're stuck in a maze, a labyrinth in the middle
She took both of his hands and quietly prayed
He felt happiness and joy and violently afraid
She said find peace in the past through quiet today
That's when he felt the guilt in him silently fray
She said listen closer to the whisper inside of you
There's wisdom in the darkness, mix it with the light in you
Illusions are tricks but there's magic in the abyss
But stay present it can be a trap to reminisce
She said you attract everything that you resist
The curtain beads sounded like rain then she turned to mist
And she said

Dream weaver put this dream yarn in your loom
Hold it through the bardos and you'll walk out your tomb
Dream detective, dream investigator
Dream protector, synchronicity surveyor
Dream weaver put this dream yarn in your loom
Hold it through the bardos and youll walk out your tomb
Dream detective, dream investigator
Dream protector, synchronicity surveyor
He could still here her humming a song like medicine
The sound waves penetrate the marrow bone sediment
He thought about how words affect things he can't see
He thought about how his words could be an axe to an astral tree
He thought about fermentation, alchemy of the ground
The worms and the fungus, in the filth it will be found
He looked for god in the church, the preacher said you owe us
But you'll never find god unless you look low enough
The darkness you've endured is the light you hold for others
Is desire to control, desire to suffer?
He saw a hand graffitied on the wall he looked at the palm
In the middle was a mirror his reflection was calm
He went to the cafe to get hibiscus tea
Someone drew a maze on the table, in the middle was a bead
He dreamnt of a serpent, did it bite or did it kiss?
He saw her silhouette in the fog then she turned to mist, she said

Dream weaver put this dream yarn in your loom
Hold it through the bardos and you'll walk out your tomb
Dream detective, dream investigator
Dream protector, synchronicity surveyor
Dream weaver put this dream yarn in your loom
Hold it through the bardos and youll walk out your tomb
Dream detective, dream investigator
Dream protector, synchronicity surveyor

Biography

edit bio
Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
