Time - Dream Historian

So many know their dreams but they're afraid to realize them
They don't realize, real lies grow inside them
Afraid to do the action so they start to theorize them
The cops in our head so we start to legalize it
We police ourselves then we go and demonize us
But we wear talismans you can't evil eye us
I see you with my eagle eye my talons are arriving
No waiting for the wise men the gifts are inside us
Pessimists say a pyramids a pile of stones
Does that mean a bodies just a pile of bones?
When I die play my rib cage like a xylophone
Is there an afterlife or just a dial tone?
I don't really know I'm just freestyling these poems
Drowning in these notes like a rapping Brian Jones
No Sympathy for the Devil, America's a private loan
It's karma went bankrupt piling up bison bones

Aurora borealis in the sky looks gorgeous
Lucid dream notorious, I'm a dream historian
Astral travel poet, I'm a dream laureate
I'm a dream warrior I woke up victorious
Aurora borealis in the sky looks gorgeous
Lucid dream notorious, I'm a dream historian
Astral travel poet, I'm a dream laureate
I'm a dream warrior I woke up victorious
A few years ago I lost my mind thought of suicide
Made myself a victim felt double crossed and crucified
Had to Get My Mind Right, Anti Smiles to rewind
They feed us pills and whisky so we slowly die and euthanize
Not to mention GMOs plus our food is friend
Algorithm showing fast food, the poison is computerized
White Jesus on the mural, the message is dehumanize
Free Mumia, free em all, they shouldn't be doing time
My friend said he travels out the prison through the astral
In his cell he made a shrine, in his mind he made a chapel
He's been reading Jung he said an archetypes a castle
He said no more rappers start battling your shadow
Red eyes in my subconscious I see the jackals
He said I'm in prison but you got the shackles
The judge is a snake he bangs his gavel like a rattle
I woke up from my dream and I saw a bitten apple

Aurora borealis in the sky looks gorgeous
Lucid dream notorious, I'm a dream historian
Astral travel poet, I'm a dream laureate
I'm a dream warrior I woke up victorious
Aurora borealis in the sky looks gorgeous
Lucid dream notorious, I'm a dream historian
Astral travel poet, I'm a dream laureate
I'm a dream warrior I woke up victorious

Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
