Sublime - Smilin

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1981334
I don't know
I've been cold, ohhh
When you smile
Right into my bones, ohhh

I know everything
Will be okay
Ohh

The sun will shine
Another day, ohhh

You laugh at
Rain i'm told
Your my storm
'Round me boat

Just as long as
As you keep on smilin'
Smilin'

You laugh at
Rain I'm told
Your my storm
'Round me boat
All our lies
We pay and pay
Will you please, please, please
Just stay

But just as long.......

Biography

edit bio
Sublime was an American ska punk and alternative rock band that rose to fame in the 1990s with their unique blend of reggae, punk, and hip-hop influences. Formed in Long Beach, California in 1988, the band consisted of Bradley Nowell on vocals and guitar, Eric Wilson on bass, and Bud Gaugh on drums. Together, they created a sound that resonated with fans around the world.

One of the defining characteristics of Sublime was their laid-back, beachy vibe, which was perfectly captured in their music. With Nowell's soulful vocals, Wilson's groovy basslines, and Gaugh's energetic drumming, the band quickly gained a loyal following in the Southern California music scene.

In addition to their core members, Sublime also collaborated with Michael ‘Miguel’ Happoldt and Marshall Goodman “Ras MG”, who co-wrote and contributed to many of their songs. The band's mascot, Lou Dog, Nowell's beloved dalmatian, was also a fixture at their shows and in their music videos.

Tragically, Sublime's success was cut short when Nowell passed away from a heroin overdose in 1996. Despite this heartbreaking loss, the band's music continued to resonate with fans, and posthumous releases like "Santeria", "Wrong Way", and "Doin' Time" became hits on U.S. radio.

Sublime released three studio albums, one live album, and several compilation albums during their career. Their self-titled third album, released in 1996, was their most successful, reaching number 13 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album's lead single, "What I Got", became their only number one hit on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.

Even after Nowell's passing, Sublime's music continued to be celebrated by fans around the world. As of 2009, the band had sold over 17 million albums worldwide, solidifying their status as one of the most influential bands of the 1990s.

In the years following Nowell's death, Wilson and vocalist/guitarist Rome Ramirez formed Sublime With Rome, releasing several albums of their own. While the original lineup of Sublime may no longer be together, their music continues to inspire new generations of fans and remains a beloved part of the alternative rock and ska punk genres.
