Biography

Sofi Tukker is a dynamic musical duo consisting of New York-based musicians Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern. The pair burst onto the music scene in 2016 with their infectious single “Drinkee”, which quickly gained popularity and showcased their unique blend of electronic, dance, and pop music.

Sophie and Tucker released their debut album, Treehouse, on April 13, 2018. The album features previously released hits like “Best Friend”, “Fuck They”, and “Batshit”, as well as seven new tracks that showcase their signature style and sound.

The duo’s musical journey began when Sophie and Tucker met at an art gallery where they were both performing as separate acts. Sophie was playing acoustic bossa nova music in a trio, while Tucker was the DJ for the night. Their collaboration started spontaneously when Tucker remixed one of Sophie’s songs on the spot, leading to a musical partnership that has continued to flourish ever since.

Sophie’s background in studying Portuguese at Brown University has had a significant influence on Sofi Tukker’s music, as the duo often incorporate Portuguese lyrics into their songs.
