Biography

Elena Alexandra Apostoleanu, known professionally as INNA, is a Romanian singer, songwriter, dancer, human rights activist and philanthropist. Born on October 16, 1986, she grew up in Mangalia, Romania and showed a passion for music from a young age.

After an unsuccessful audition for the Romanian band A.S.I.A., INNA began working in an office where her manager heard her singing and introduced her to the Romanian production trio Play & Win. Together, they recorded several songs and INNA's career began to take off.

Initially performing under the stage name Alessandra and dabbling in a pop-rock style, INNA eventually switched to a shorter and more memorable stage name inspired by her grandfather's nickname for her. She shifted her musical style to electronic dance music and released her debut single "Hot," which became a global success and catapulted her to fame.

Throughout her career, INNA has released multiple successful albums, including "Hot," "I Am the Club Rocker," "Party Never Ends," and "Nirvana." She has collaborated with artists such as Daddy Yankee and J Balvin, and has achieved major milestones such as becoming the first European female vocalist to surpass one billion total views on YouTube.

INNA's music has earned her numerous awards and accolades, including European Border Breakers Award, five Balkan Music Awards, and three MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Romanian Act. She has also been recognized by The Guardian as "one of Romania's biggest exports."

In addition to her music career, INNA is also known for her philanthropic work and activism, using her platform to advocate for human rights and support various charitable causes. She continues to be a prominent figure in the music industry, constantly evolving her sound and pushing boundaries with each new project.
