I feel like i've fallen and i can't get up
Like all my blessings are gone and i'm outta luck
Feel i've got the sun and moon on my shoulders
Like there's nothing i can do to get any poorer

I was working now i'm out of job
Hurting but i'm thankful that i heard from my mom
Will this weather get any colder
I'm hoping it gets better as i get older

I used to have an elеmentary intellect
Didn't know how to make lemonade from lemons, yet
Or how to make sauce from the apples i ate and
Keep a boss long after the application

But now i'm no longer spacing in dumbness
I could go to the same corporations and run them
I'm mr. evans, i've got my head above the water
In order, even if i've only got a mic and recorder, sorta

Beyond the border of adolescence, i've gathered lessons
While i've failed and been mad embarrassed but i haven't perished
I'm still here, living and loving life
Real tears because it ain't giving me nothing nice

Even when i be tryna do something right
It feels like it's dark and i'm fumbling with the lights
But usually when a cooler breeze would be soothing me
It proves to be that community makes me truly free

I rode my bike from the crib to the cta
Kept on the lights is what i did
Sometimes, i'd still be late
It wasn't great
Riding bike in the heat so we could
Potatoes, a bit of greese
With eggs and little meat

I was loving the classroom but cash rules
Time to focus on what can keep my bills from becoming past due
My experiences are growing me
And i'm mixing a bunch of lessons with a whole lot of luck

Good or bad, hot or cold, black or white it's like
I know my angels and my demons gotta fight tonight
You remember not having responsibilities or worries
Nowadays, you gotta be getting cheese in a hurry

The coldest winter is coming with sleet and flurries
Have you noticed how many men running, leaving their shorties
Nurture the young, before their 20s 30s & 40s
