Time - Spiritual Shovel

Death comes, death goes, I don't have a fear of it
She grabbed his hands they transported to the pyramids
Afterlife was the rubric the teacher was Anubis
He gave em pomegranate juice, he took 2 sips
Vision lucid, he saw the universe's blueprint
Monuments, pixels, everything's made of cubics
He lined the molecules with a twist of the rubix
His DNA looked like a lapiz laddеr with blue tips
Event horizon he hеard the black hole's acoustics
The sound of light bending tends to be therapeutic
Who lives and who dies he wondered who picks?
Was he a human or primordial soup mix?
Was he just a bunch of cells with legs like toothpicks?
Do you live in fantasy with the truths you pick?
She said buried in your soul you'll find a hidden treasure
But you'll never find it, if your shovel is pleasure

He dug with his arms he dug with his hands
He clawed at the soil till he scarred the land
He dug with backhoes he dug with machines
He dug and made canyons, he dug and made ravines
He dug through the summer and he dug through the cold
He dug and found oil, he dug and found gold
He dug and found riches but still felt poor
Cuz you got to dig with love to dig into your soul
He said I dreamnt of soil she said interpret the dream
He said it doesn't make sense it's not worth it to me
Plus after a few minutes they seem to fade away
She said that doesn't mean it didn't have a story to convey
The language of the world doesn't always use words
Sometimes it uses omens, stones or birds
He thought about the shovel it was shaped like a blade
He remembered a fox yell, it sounded afraid
He thought about their relationship to the earth and land
How their homes are burrows and get crushed by man
He thought about how he dug like stabbing a knife
And how she bled minerals, the essence of her life
He thought about greed and how he dug for himself
He thought about desire and how he dug for wealth
He finally stopped talking and started listening
He threw down the shovel and started digging differently

He dug with patience he dug with curiosity
He dug with kindness and no animosity
He dug with conviction he dug with discipline
He dug with humility he dug with forgiveness
He dug through the peace he dug through the war
He dug for fun he dug to explore
He found the buried treasure and no longer felt poor
He found spiritual wealth, he found the love in his soul

Time

Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
