Time - Coyote Communique

My eyes weary, my mind varies
The simplest things in life are the most extraordinary
A ripple in a pond is a lesson to me
That every action has a trajectory
Staring at the branches in the wind I'm mesmerized
The lines in a leaf I sat and memorized
The bulldozers came, the engines murdered silence
They came with chainsaws to do surgical violence
The raccoons hеld a meeting a stone was thrown
The windshield crackеd, the brakes squeak and moan
Dry grass in the gas tank turned it to an ash tray
The men ran away they got chased at a fast pace
Coyote communique, the men just heard a howl
The birds did recon, surveillance from a owl
The coyote growl translated to we got em now
The moon couldn't look, it hid behind a cloud
I woke from the dream and heard a fox crying
Ironic how under your skin your skull is always smiling
Are dreams a bridge between the night and the day?
Or is a dream the underworld where we go to play?
Are people I meet in dreams, the divine wearing masks?
With faces I recognize so lessons I can grasp?
Did we abandon the sacred for statistics?
Did we trade screens for secrets from mystics?
Or maybe we just rearranged the characteristics
We pixelated our minds into code linguistics
I'm trying to accept defeat, the desire to know
Maybe curiosity got knotted with my ego
Is to interpret a dream a way to kill a dream?
Or if you focus too much you'll see it in everything?
The palm reader said you're on the run from mortality
Do you interpret dreams or make them reality?

Time

Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
