Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, known by his stage name YoungBoy Never Broke Again or NBA YoungBoy, was born on October 20, 1999, in Louisiana. He began writing and making music at the young age of fourteen, and in April of 2015, he released his first mixtape titled Life Before Fame.
YoungBoy started gaining recognition with projects like Mind Of A Menace 3, Before I Go, and 38 Baby, but it was his hit song “38 Baby” that really put him on the map. However, his rise to fame was interrupted when he was arrested on November 28, 2016, and charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder in connection with a drive-by shooting. He ended up serving six months in prison and receiving a ten-year suspended prison sentence.
Upon his release, YoungBoy dropped the hit song “Untouchable” followed by the album AI YoungBoy in August 2017. He continued to release music, with projects like Ain’t Too Long in 2017 and his debut studio album Until Death Call My Name in 2018.
Throughout his career, YoungBoy has continued to release popular tracks like Drawing Symbols, Lil Top, House Arrest Tingz, and Around. These songs have been featured on albums such as AI Youngboy II, Still Flexin', Still Steppin', and Top.
However, YoungBoy has faced legal troubles, including being taken into custody by the FBI on March 25 for outstanding federal warrants related to drug and weapon charges dating back to 2016. Despite these challenges, YoungBoy Never Broke Again remains a prominent figure in the rap scene, known for his raw and honest lyrics that resonate with his fans.
