Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, known professionally as Lil Tecca, was born on August 26, 2002, in Queens, New York. He first discovered his love for music at the young age of 9, inspired by his friends, and began rapping. His first song was a diss track towards his friends, which he later took down as he honed his craft over the years.

Despite hailing from Queens, Lil Tecca initially gained a fanbase in Toronto, Canada, leading many to believe he was from there. He started to gain mainstream attention with tracks like “Molly Girl” and “Did It Again,” but it was his breakout hit “Ransom” that catapulted him to stardom. The song, accompanied by a Cole Bennett-directed music video, peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In August 2019, Lil Tecca released his debut mixtape, We Love You Tecca, which debuted and peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200. The project featured several songs that made it onto the Billboard Hot 100, with “Ransom” leading the way. The mixtape was later certified platinum.

Following the success of his mixtape, Lil Tecca released his debut studio album, Virgo World, in September 2020. The album debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 and featured tracks like “Dolly” with Lil Uzi Vert that charted on the Hot 100.

In August 2021, Lil Tecca released a second version of We Love You Tecca, which also debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200. The album included hits like “NEVER LEFT” and “REPEAT IT” featuring Gunna, both of which made it onto the Hot 100.

Lil Tecca continues to make waves in the music industry with his unique sound and infectious tracks, solidifying his status as one of the rising stars in hip-hop.
