Verse 1: Dabbla
Yeah
All I do is just shit on 'em
Ain't dividing my dividend
You can suck my dick for the minimum
Man, I'm killing 'em
Killing 'em
Dead, dead, man are cold blooded
Broad day, I'm so rugged
Whole bag of that gold studded
Bowl flooded
Empty out your whole stomach
Took apart that old logic
Any way that you trolls want it
You stole from it
I gave to it, you ain't fluid
You're influenced
I'm too deep, you ain't been through it
But shit happens
Out here tryna split rations
Fuck apart with them big patterns
Still here cos it matters
It matters, it matters
Cuts, bruises, bit battered
Broken promises, shit shattered
Lost souls with skin tattered
I don't care for your chit-chatter
Ain't loading that shit data
Get a load of my sick kata
Get involved, I split matter
I'm too cold, too big
I'm too bold, I Chewbacca
Shutting down your new chapter like
Is it? Shut up
Refrain: Jam Baxter and Dabbla
(In the nicest possible way)
(Step away from the hearse, man)
The first life's always free
(The first life is a freebie my guy)
(Dead players)
I'mma live mine real quick, that's me
(Wish you all the best)
(Crack on)
The first life's always free
(This shit really shouldn't be allowed anymore)
(It's real easy)
I'mma live mine real quick, that's me

Verse 2: Jam Baxter
The rum comes out and the veil slips
Mouldy tongues in your stale lips
You wanna watch them guys you do rails with
We've all heard your 6AM sales pitch
Another dot-five and the scale tips
Your head rolled out at the wrong station
Face screwed up like a squashed raisin
We lit the butane, then we flambéed 'em
Excuse me sir, is this spot taken?
I sat smugly at every table
OPposite the gods with their teeth filed down
And their hands all bound in electric cable
That truth burns, that whip stings
These wry smiles, these six limbs
These two horns, these clipped wings
All stitched onto our thick skins
Overgrown with that gold fungus
My eyes twitch, my soul slumbers
I'm too gone, we are not linking
You've all been ringing my old numbers
Waves crash, we dive deeper
At half four in a five seater
In short shorts and a wife beater
With glazed eyes and a high fever
The skies all stare down grinning
That dark blue smile was seductive
The kid's on hold to the real world
Head back, hunched down, holding his grudges
That dead weight shattered your ankles
The thief ran off with your crutches
We can't see the whites of your eyes anymore
But there's suttin about 'em I don't fuck with, nah
Refrain: Jam Baxter and Dabbla
(There's always suttin)
(Fuck it)
The first life's always free
(Living a few lifetimes at once round here, man)
(So glorious)
I'mma live mine real quick, that's me
(Left the daiquiris melting on the table, gone)
The first life's always free
(Dead players)
I'mma live mine real quick, that's me

Dead Players

Dead Players are a trio of musicians comprising of Jam Baxter, Dabbla and Ghosttown. Dabbla and Baxter do the talking and Ghosttown does the sonics. Their debut album ‘Dead Players’, was released in 2013 followed by their game changing sophomore release ‘Freshly Skeletal’ in 2015. Baxter went public way back in 2010 during an interview for some local get up. He proclaimed that the person he would ‘most like to collaborate with’ was Dabbla. Dabbla heard the call-out and the creative cogs started turning. It was never a question of which producer to recruit; Ghosttown had worked with both emcees in the past and filled the boots of someone with a musical vision potent enough to accommodate the demands of the two lyricists.
The result? A camaraderie so colourful the UK hip hop scene will celebrate its inception for years to come, but moreover, an outfit that looks set to span a wide spectrum of genres and movements with the music they make.
