Mega Ran - COLLAPSE

verse 1: mega ran
Nothing but dark clouds and strife, the story of my life
Trying to reclaim whatever i thought i gained
While the shadow of the past just looms right over me
In a world of chaos, just dying to be free
No love to guide like a beacon in the dark
The pain creates scars that forever leave a mark
But the past, it bites back, the dream i can't shake
The path i can't take, the one fatal mistake
In love and memory the two would intertwine
A quest for rebirth, the treasures that we'd find
A path that we define is ours until it's not
Forever running, just like hands up on the clock
Adversity and me, we know each other well
Yet the makeup in my cells won't allow me to fail
Confusion reigns, but i find my way
And let the lifestream guide my way, hey

chorus: mega ran
I'm trying not to fall in the trap
Wish me luck, but i don't be calling it that
Good fortune, don't just fall in your lap
I'm just hoping it all don't collapse, ay
I'm trying not to fall in the trap
Wish me luck, but i don't be calling it that
Good fortune, don't just fall in your lap
I'm just hoping it all don't collapse
verse 2: kadesh flow
Desh, i left my family in pursuit of what i saw for me
Didn't have a plan, but knew i'd go hard for these
Feelings of ambition to have purpose, complacency's mad worthless
If i do it, i won't do it partially
I'm all the way in, country boy, the first class
It's amazing if i fail at the first pass
I'mma double back, there isn't another option
Who else was there to get it done if i ended up stopping?
They could count on me whenever things were really popping
But loyalty's seldom rewarded
They have agendas, but you learn when it's too late to thwart them
I committed to the mission, and i just can't abort it, i'd rather pay it forward
They might think that they can stop me in my tracks
But my passion is carried by those who i impact
I'm not the one to lie down in the face of daunting odds
I'm built for this, why do you think i took the job? yeah

chorus: mega ran
I'm trying not to fall in the trap
Wish me luck, but i don't be calling it that
Good fortune, don't just fall in your lap
I'm just hoping it all don't collapse, ay
I'm trying not to fall in the trap
Wish me luck, but i don't be calling it that
Good fortune, don't just fall in your lap
I'm just hoping it all don't collapse
verse 3: dizzyeight
Yeah, hope it don't collapse, firm foundation is what i stack on
Life is a cycle just like the loop that i rap on
And i was raised to know that that's the root of the black thought
Trapped, or that's just what you perceived
You got the power to change our position, just need the vision to see
Stay persistent, consistency be the key to unleash
All you can be and leave doubters in disbelief
Then watch your rebirth be nothing less than peak
Speaking of peak, i can't have my head in the clouds
Strife i been through, i still move with a smile
Always been a stand out, never stuck with the crowd
Like an outcast, the irony - they in love with him now
I started taking charge to keep my faith in the dark, i
Feel like zack fair - the way i'm facing my scars
Internally there's a war, so i gotta fight with a cause
Pray to god that i can make a difference before i'm gone

chorus: mega ran
I'm trying not to fall in the trap
Wish me luck, but i don't be calling it that
Good fortune, don't just fall in your lap
I'm just hoping it all don't collapse, ay
I'm trying not to fall in the trap
Wish me luck, but i don't be calling it that
Good fortune, don't just fall in your lap
I'm just hoping it all don't collapse

Mega Ran

Mega Ran is a nerdcore rapper, chiptune DJ, and producer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The stage name originally came from his favorite game at the beginning of his musical career, Mega Man. He is also known by his producer nickname, Random Beats. He hosts a wrestling-oriented podcast on his website titled Mat Mania.

Pursuing the academic field at the time as a middle school teacher (formerly a special education teacher), he donned the titles of both a musical artist and a teacher until 2011, where he ultimately quit teaching to focus on a full-time music career.

Ran started to gain mainstream attention in March 2009 for the song “Splash Woman” from his fifth, then newly-released album Mega Ran 9, then again in February 2012 for “Mega Ran’s Jeremy Lin Rap” which was played on ESPN, and was also featured on NBC Sports, The New York Times, and other news outlets – it being dedicated to the professional NBA basketball player Jeremy Lin who was trending widespread at the time and was NBA’s newest sensation.

His original name was Random, and then the transition from Mega Ran to Random was made until he officially changed it back to Mega Ran in February 2015 to avoid confusion:

Today I decided to change my name officially to just Mega Ran. It’s too confusing with at least 6 other acts named Random, and some sites don’t allow an aka… so, it’s officially a thing.
