JPEGMAFIA - call me maybe

Verse 1
I threw a wish in the well
Don't ask me, I'll never tell
I looked to you as it fell
And now you're in my way
Trade my soul for a wish
Pennies and dimes for a kiss
I wasn't looking for this
But now you're in my way

Verse 2
You took your time with the call
I took no time with the fall
You gave me nothing at all
But still, you're in my way
I beg, and borrow and steal
At first sight and it's real
I didn't know I would feel it
But now it's in my way

Pre-Chorus
Your stare was holding
Ripped jeans, skin was showing
Hot nights, wind was blowing
Where you think you're going, baby?
I like the motion
All night I was stroking
Take time out of stroking
Where do you think you're going, baby?

Chorus
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy
But here's my numbеr, so call me maybe
It's hard to look right at you, baby
But herе's my number, so call me maybe

Bridge
Girl you came into my life, I missed you so bad
I missed you so bad
Missed you missed you so bad
Girl you came into my life, I missed you so bad
I missed you baby, I missed baby

Outro
Girl you came into my life
I missed you so bad

Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks, known professionally as JPEGMAFIA, was born on October 22nd, 1989, in New York to Jamaican parents. He spent his early childhood in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, where he was immersed in West Indian culture and black pride. However, due to difficult circumstances at home, he moved to rural Alabama during his mid-teens.

After graduating from high school, JPEGMAFIA joined the military, which allowed him to travel to various parts of the world. It was during this time that he met other artists and honed his skills as a rapper and producer. His experiences abroad added new elements to his music, shaping his unique sound.

While living in Japan from 2009 to 2013, JPEGMAFIA began making music under the name Devon Hendryx. This period of his life marked a significant turning point in his career, as he experimented with different styles and sounds, ultimately leading to the development of his distinctive musical identity.

Currently based in Los Angeles, California, JPEGMAFIA continues to push boundaries and challenge norms within the hip-hop genre. His music is characterized by raw, unapologetic lyrics and innovative production techniques.
