Polo G - I Know

Pipe that shit up, TnT
Dmac on the f*ckin' track
(Tahj Money)
Bondin' over drugs and pain, dirty Sprite share
My dawg was one of a kind, I know your type rare
I know life is a bitch and she don't fight fair
How the f*ck I wake up from a dream to a nightmare?
Left us behind, you seen that light glare
I know you walkin' up to Heaven on them white stairs
Why I can't just pull up to your crib and see you right there?
Nobody love you 'til you dead, that's when they might care
Let's just be friends before we rush into a label
Wanna know if you really f*ck with me, girl, what's your angle?
It's only for the better if I'm tryna change you
Lovin' me ain't easy, if you leave, I don't blame you
Trauma got me f*cked up, so I'm mentally unstable
I got wrapped up in my emotions, now I'm tangled
Deep in my thoughts and overthinkin', can get painful
Watch how I move, one wrong decision can be fatal
Hidden messages, conversations with my angels
Just walk with me and you'll see I'm tryna save you
Most times I'm by myself, I'm still confused from betrayal
From rags to riches, shit still hard, I'm just on phase two
Bondin' over drugs and pain, dirty Sprite share

Nobody love you 'til you dead, that's when they might care
Livin' on his own and he runnin' out of options now
'Cause he felt like he couldn't be his self at his mama house
Hittin' licks, missin' school
Junior year, he thought 'bout droppin' out
Him against the world, .40 on him when he poppin' out
On his dark road, he just tryna find a proper route
Hate the criticism, he uses music to block it out
By his auntie, he was molested as a baby boy
Messed up his head, it even changed the way he play with toys
Up late night rappin' and they told him to quit makin' noise
Stuck in his feelings, he be spendin' every day annoyed
He wanna stand over a nigga, leave his face destroyed
He miss his hood, now this something that he can't avoid
Bondin' over drugs and pain, dirty Sprite share

Polo G

Taurus Tremani Bartlett, known by his stage name Polo G, was born on January 6th, 1999 in Chicago. Growing up in the Cabrini-Green district, specifically the Marshall Field Garden Apartments, Polo G was no stranger to the harsh realities of street life in the city. He faced the loss of friends and loved ones, as well as the looming threat of jail time, all of which heavily influenced his music.

Using rap as an outlet to cope with the violence and tragedy he experienced, Polo G began releasing tracks on SoundCloud and YouTube in 2017. His raw and emotional style quickly gained him a following, especially in his hometown of Chicago.

Polo G's breakout moment came with the release of his song "Finer Things" in August 2018, which he wrote while incarcerated. This, along with the Lil Tjay collaboration "Pop Out," propelled him into the mainstream. His debut album, Die a Legend, reached number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and solidified his status as a rising star.

Following the success of his debut album, Polo G released his sophomore album, THE GOAT, in 2020. The album performed exceptionally well commercially and featured hits like "Go Stupid" with Stunna 4 Vegas and NLE Choppa. Polo G used his music to address important social issues, such as the Black Lives Matter movement, drawing from his own experiences with systemic racism.

In June 2021, Polo G completed the trilogy of his first three studio albums with the release of Hall of Fame. The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, boosted by the success of his hit single "RAPSTAR" and a lineup of star-studded features.

Polo G's music continues to resonate with fans for its raw honesty, emotional depth, and social commentary. He has established himself as a standout artist in the rap scene, drawing on his personal experiences to create music that is both compelling and impactful.
