Tinashe - Miles Away

Intro
Alright

Verse 1
Lately, I've been feelin' like I'm suffocating
I've been lookin' out for a new way to breath
Day-by-day, so sick and tired of frontin' on 'em
Know deep down, there's got to be another way
I'm sending myself a lil eviction notice
Packing up a little bag of memories
A couple of days go by before you'll even notice
And when you finally come back here to look for me

Chorus
Aye,
And I'll be miles away
And I'll be miles away
And I'll be flying away (Miles away, oh)
Aye, and i'll be miles away
I know you want me to stay
And I'll be flying away (Miles away)

Verse 2
Yeah, people 'round here way too comfortable (Oh yeah)
There's some beauty in monotony (Okay)
Don't need no excuse for running from it (Your lovin')
All of a sudden, the whole world is right in front of me
I've been everybody uses not to go
I'm just too afraid of them, ❲?❳
I guess they'll stay here dreamin' of it
While we out there discovering the places we can really go

Chorus
Aye,
And I'll be miles away
And I'll be miles away
And I'll be flying away (Miles away, oh)
Aye, and i'll be miles away
I know you want me to stay
And I'll be flying away (Miles away)

Post-Chorus
I don't cry overboard
I don't cry overboard
I don't cry overboard
I don't cry overboard

Bridge
Right before I go
Climb my favorite mountain
Gaze at what we made our home
Then at least I'll know
We were part of something
So I'll never feel alone
When I'm gone

Chorus
Aye,
And I'll be miles away
And I'll be miles away
And I'll be flying away (Miles away, oh)
Aye, and i'll be miles away
I know you want me to stay
And I'll be flying away (Miles away)

(I don't cry overboard)
Aye, i'll be miles away (I don't cry overboard))
Now I know it's gonna be alright
All my fears go up in smoke tonight

Aye, i'll be miles away (I don't cry overboard)
Now I know it's gonna be alright
All my fears are burning up tonight

I don't cry overboard

Tinashe Jorgenson Kachingwe, known mononymously as Tinashe, is an American singer-songwriter, actress, dancer, and former model born in Lexington, Kentucky and raised in Los Angeles, California.

Born on February 6, 1993, her rise to fame began with her acting on shows such as Two and a Half Men. Initially making her debut in the music industry via the short-lived girl group The Stunners—which also featured Hayley Kiyoko—she garnered attention from online music blogs with her 2012 mixtape, In Case We Die. Signing with RCA Records shortly after, she released two further mixtapes later that year and in 2013: Reverie and Black Water respectively. “2 On” was released in January 2014 as the lead single from her debut album, Aquarius, and remains her biggest solo single to date. Released in October that year, the album was praised by critics for its merging of old-school R&B sounds and fresh 2010s trends. The follow-up was subjected to much-criticised delays: although “Player” was billed as the collection’s lead single as early as October 2015, songs released from the project failed to reach the label’s expectations, resulting in the release of an album’s worth of outtakes from the album, Nightride, in November 2016. Joyride was finally released on April 13: it features the singles “No Drama”, “Faded Love” and “Me So Bad”.

On February 18, 2019, Tinashe parted ways with her longtime record label RCA. By November that year, she inked a new management deal with Roc Nation and self-released Songs for You, her fourth studio album.
