Xande vem de Vasco Alexandre, o meu pai e o meu irmão mais velho também se chamam Vasco então os meus pais sempre me chamaram “Xande” para se menos confusão em casa.
Tendo como referências na música Sigur Rós, Deftones, Thomas Newman e Travis Scott, nesta conversa com a Genius Portugal, Vasco revelou também as suas motivações na música:
Sempre me senti deslocado, sozinho e incompreendido por os que me rodeiam, nunca consegui falar muito sobre isso mas ao longo dos anos música tornou-se a minha terapia. O que me motiva muito hoje é saber que as minhas letras ajudam pessoas que vivem e sentem o mesmo que eu a sentirem-se um pouco mais compreendidas e que não estão sozinhas neste mundo tal como algumas músicas me ajudam a mim.
Começou a cantar em 1998 depois de ouvir pela primeira vez Deftones e em 2001 criou os More Than A Thousand lançando então no mesmo ano o primeiro EP deste projecto, intítulado de Those in Glass Houses Shouldn’t Throw Stones.
Em 2016 a banda dissolveu-se e Vasco nunca parou de escrever, oficializando-se como Xande em 2018 lançado o seu primeiro EP com o nome de It Is What It Is.
Em 2020 lança o seu primeiro álbum a solo, Maybe Different Is Not So Bad.
