Jake Brewer - All the spaces i left blank

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1036583
verse 1
I used to see you as a king
And i would die for that throne
Like everything i did was to prove to you
That i could do it on my own
But daggers from your belt were the wounds that bled the most
And prisons now stand in the places i called home
You let me face defeat as a lost boy alone
But can’t stand the thought of me standing on my own

chorus
It’s true, i once did it all for you
Gave every last breath to prove it to you
You can only bleed for so long until you heal
In a castle you swore you’d forever conceal
You’ll never see it in me, but at lеast i do
Now that i filled all the spaces i lеft blank for you

verse 2
I used to paint the night
The way you showed me to see it
I used to climb as far as you said was safe
But sirens blasted and you came out screaming
Painting true colors on a scared boy hiding

I couldn’t let the young boy i was fall
If you cut the net i'd build a wall
Betrayal from the ones with your cherish given
But from my silent screams you won’t be forgiven

chorus
It’s true i once did it all for you
Poured every last glass to forget all you do
But the scars that remain mark something greater
Of the battles i fought as my self-proclaimed savior
And now you want it back but it’s time to face your truth
Now that i filled all the spaces i left blank for you
