Copied!edit Lyrics

Chorus: Olivia Dean & Phora
I haven't seen you at a party yet, I
Don't know how you move
Let me in on all your secrets, I
Want your point of view
I'm dying to reach out and know you
But it doesn't feel like it's supposed to
I'm wondering if I'll ever fall again (Yeah)
It was easy not knowing (I mean) what it meant (Listen)

Verse: Phora
To my dear unborn child whether boy or girl
I write this song to prepare you for this lonely world
When you goin' through a bad time and need to clear your mind, just play this song alone and tune out from the world
I hope this life brings you nothin' but peace (Nothin' but peace)
I hope this life keeps you away from the streets (Keeps you away from thе streets)
I hope this life gives you somеone that loves you (Someone that loves you)
I hope that somebody makes you feel complete (Makes you feel complete), yeah
'Cause you gon' go through times when you need someone
When you feel the world's against you, you won't need a gun
You just gonna need some love and some light
So much goin' on inside, it's hard to keep tryna fight
'Cause everybody have secrets, just be careful who you tell 'em to
'Cause they'll use 'em all against you when you least expect them to (Expect them to)
Man, jealousy is ugly and it's everywhere
And usually it comes from people who act like they care (Who act like they care)
Sometimes the ones you need can't protect you
Sometimes the people that you trust just wanna end you
But clap for people when they win even against you
'Cause you don't really know their pain or what they went through
I was five when I had to see my father through a cell
I hope you never have to do the same
'Cause in this lifetime the only thing you really need is love
But on the way you'll experience pain
It's some people let that thing called pain turn 'em cold inside
Me, I use it to remind me that my soul's alive
You can let it eat you up, you can let it break you down
Or you can let it teach you that there's so much more to life (There's so much more to life)
Don't ever let the hard times break you
You gon' find love and lose love but that's what makes you
Keep your heart protected, keep growin', be thankful
Remember that this life is such a blessing though it's painful
And when you fall in love, make sure they love you for you
Love happens when it's supposed to and you'll know when it's true
I ran from love for so long, I held myself back from bein' happy
I don't wanna see you run from it to, man
But life's crazy and this world could be evil
And death comes even for the strongest of people
So make sure you tell the ones close to you that you love 'em
'Cause you'll never know when it's gon' be the last time they see you (The last they see you), man
Everybody has a dream, you gonna have one too
And remember there's no limit to what you can do
It's gonna come a point when nobody believes in you
But you just have to believe in yourself alone and see it through
'Cause this life is filled with hatred and envy
If you keep God close to your heart'll never be empty
If I die before you wake, I hope you never forget me
And even though you're not here, I know I love you already
Yours truly

Chorus: Olivia Dean
I haven't seen you at a party yet, I

Let me in on all your secrets, I
Want your point of view
I'm dying to reach out and know you
But it doesn't feel like it's supposed to
I'm wondering if I'll ever fall again
It was easy not knowing what it meant (Ooh, ooh-ooh)
The definition of us still escapes me now and then (Ooh, ooh-ooh)
I'm wondering if I’ll ever fall again
