Intro: Warren G
This song is dedicated to all my people
That was caught up in Hurricane Katrina
Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama
We ridin with y'all
You know what I'm sayin'?
I feel your pain
We gon' make it through this y'all
Yeah
Come on

Verse 1: Warren G
We here today then gone tomorrow
It's got me singing a Marvin Gaye song
It made me wanna holler
So I hop in my Impala
Just to cruise, shake my blues
It's hard to follow
Hard to swallow what they sayin' on the news
Good Lord, it's a crazy world
Watchin' cops puttin' cuffs on a five-year-old girl
Racism, racism got our babies in the system
Mom and daddies in the prison
That's intentional division
They don't want us all united
They keep the families divided
Keep it gangsta, keep it real
That's all I hear but I dont buy it
When it's revolution time, all these fools'll will keep quiet
Like shh, you can. you can hear a pin drop
Can't go to 110 'cause I might get popped
People shootin' on the freeway, when will it stop?
But stay strong 'cause the rain don't last
And Bush, the war been over, fix the price on gas

Chorus: Side Effect
Don't let no one, no one
Get you down
'Cause if they do, if they do
I'll be around

Verse 2: Ice Cube
Why the black and the brown got to fight in the pen?
The black and the brown, they squabbin' again
The motherfuckin' sheriff is laughin' again
That shit stink, keep your ass out the wind
See, the black and the brown, we can share the same land
When I was a slave, where the fuck did I ran?
California, man, it was full of Mexicans
This is they shit, nigga, can't say shit
Just, kick back and enjoy the sunshine
Live your life, stay away from one-time
Get you money, mayne, find the lunch line
This ain't a joke, nigga, where's the punchline?
The ghetto is a trap homie, take the cheese
Soon as you do it, here come the police
Invented and designed for us to fail
Homie, don't you end up dead or in jail

Chorus: Side Effect
Don't let no one, no one
Get you down
'Cause if they do, if they do
I'll be around

Verse 3: Snoop Dogg
I try to do right, I don't wanna do wrong
I'm doin' better things, man, I wanna live long
Ain't too many fools out there harder than me
I love football so much, man, I started a league
Oh, what a pity, it's made for the inner city
It used to be dark but now the park's real pretty
Lil' boys outside throwin' footballs
In the hood, y'all
Hey, Snoop Dogg, how could y'all
Let 'em pass instead of blast
The football field is a class
And I'ma teach, teach 'em my lesson
Shotgun formation, no Smith and no Wesson
The haters keep stressin'
And everybody wanna ask me the question
Hey, Boss Dogg, how you feel now?
You helpin' out the kids and they still hatin on ya, wow!

Interlude: Warren G
You know what I'm sayin'
There's a lot goin on' in this world
But we gotta keep on pushin' and movin' and groovin'
You know what I'm sayin'?
Yeah, even though we got these hard times
We still gotta keep it steady, you know?
Keep pushin
So I want y'all to ride with me and cha-cha to this
Come on

Chorus: Side Effect
Don't let no one, no one
Get you down
'Cause if they do, if they do
I'll be around

Biography

edit bio
Throughout his early solo career, Warren G worked with artists like MC Breed and 2Pac, but his big break came when his vocal collaboration with Mista Grimm, “Indo Smoke”, appeared on the Poetic Justice soundtrack in 1992. His outstanding rap lead to a serious collaboration with Dr. Dre. Dedicated to hard work, that same year, Warren G made major contributions to Dr. Dre’s album The Chronic, released in December 1992, including sampling for “Nuthin' but a G Thang”

Worldwide recognition as a solo artist came immediately after Warren G dropped the smash hit “Regulate”; a duet with Nate Dogg, which topped the charts in 1994. The accompanying album Regulate…G Funk Era is a monument to the originality and smooth hip hop that is Warren G. The debut album went triple platinum with an accompanied second single, “This DJ”, becoming his second Top 20 hit. Had Warren G signed with Death Row, which he could do after 213 dissolved, he would have been one of the label’s biggest selling acts at the time.

Besides rapping and DJing with some legends in the game Warren also produces his own music and for others, credits include Made in America, The New Breed, Conversation, G-Funk Classics, Kuruption!, Laugh Now, Cry Later, Rapper Gone Bad, and many other well-received albums.
