Roman Alexander - Bourbon Street

Copied!edit Lyrics

Can I buy you a drink
She said no, I just wanna walk with you a while
Said baby that's cool, just talkin to you
I could go on like this for miles

Left a dive bar
10 pm
Grabbed my guitar and count my tips headed on back to the riverside motel

I saw an angel
Through the cigar smoke
In all that noise, that one hello
Was a little bit of heaven in a whole town raising hell and I said
Can I buy you a drink
She said no, I just wanna walk with you a while
Said baby that's cool, just talkin to you
I could go on like this for miles
Cobblestone cold sober
Gettin high on getting closer
Didn't need whiskey for you and me
To have the wildest night on Bourbon Street

Can't remember thеm throwing beads
The jazz band or the magnolia breezе but I still hear every word you said to me

Ain't it funny
In a town chalked full of one night stands
I'm still right here holdin your hand
And what's wild is
That first kiss
Started with

Can I buy you a drink
She said no, I just wanna walk with you a while
Said baby that's cool, just talkin to you
I could go on like this for miles
Cobblestone cold sober
Gettin high on getting closer
Didn't need whiskey for you and me
To have the wildest night on Bourbon Street
Can I buy you a drink
She said no, I just wanna walk with you a while
That party down in New Orleans stood still when you smiled
Cobblestone cold sober
Gettin high on getting closer
Didn't need whiskey for you and me
To have the wildest night on Bourbon Street

Biography

edit bio
There’s a photo of Roman Alexander at 7 years old on stage with a full-sized guitar in hand and a look in his smile saying “This is where I’m meant to be.”

Now in his early 20s, Alexander has nearly two decades of performing. The first songs he learned on guitar were “Ring of Fire” and “Folsom Prison Blues,” thanks to a childhood love of Johnny Cash. His mother’s love for of Elvis Presley was also influential and you can hear the clever references to the King in his songs.

Alexander moved to Nashville to get his music heard. He posted his performances and gained a strong following, which led to him signing a publishing and development deal with Twelve 6 Entertainment. He began working with Jerry Flowers, a top writer in Nashville and Keith Urban’s bandleader, on refining his songwriting and elevating his live show.

Alexander’s new single “Cocktail Conversations” addresses new romance. You’ll pick up on the understated qualities of the lyrics and melodies. There’s an easy confidence born out of playing onstage for years.

“I just want to cut the best songs, whether they’re mine or not,” Alexander says. “If I happen to be able to write it, that’s great, but we’re in Nashville, so there are so many great songs out there.”
