Roman Alexander - Over Me

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/965106
VERSE 1
Let your friends take you out
Get you drunk
On the town
Kiss a stranger
Cuz there ain’t no danger
In a late night slow dance
Letting him hold your hand
Spin you round, tell you how beautiful you are

PRE-Chorus
Send a text to an ex
If it’s me don’t hit send
Yea I’m up
But girl that just ain’t what you need

Chorus
You’re gonna find somebody better
Change your mind like the Midwest weather
Forget about the man you left down in Tennessee
You’re gonna let go of the reasons
You and I were worth believing in
A heart can move on faster than you think
All the photographs and memories start fading out eventually you’ll wake up one day and you’ll be Over me

VERSE 2
Let your mom call you up say I wasn’t the one for the long run, and nah, she ain’t wrong
Cuz hearts like mine don’t settle down
They burn bright, and they burn out
If forever’s what you need
Give it time and girl you’ll see

Chorus
You’re gonna find somebody better
Change your mind like the Midwest weather
Forget about the man you left down in Tennessee
You’re gonna let go of the reasons
You and I were worth believing in
A heart can move on faster than you think
All the photographs and memories start fading out eventually you’ll wake up one day and you’ll be Over me

OUTRO
Let your friends take you out
Get you drunk
On the town
Kiss a stranger

Biography

edit bio
There’s a photo of Roman Alexander at 7 years old on stage with a full-sized guitar in hand and a look in his smile saying “This is where I’m meant to be.”

Now in his early 20s, Alexander has nearly two decades of performing. The first songs he learned on guitar were “Ring of Fire” and “Folsom Prison Blues,” thanks to a childhood love of Johnny Cash. His mother’s love for of Elvis Presley was also influential and you can hear the clever references to the King in his songs.

Alexander moved to Nashville to get his music heard. He posted his performances and gained a strong following, which led to him signing a publishing and development deal with Twelve 6 Entertainment. He began working with Jerry Flowers, a top writer in Nashville and Keith Urban’s bandleader, on refining his songwriting and elevating his live show.

Alexander’s new single “Cocktail Conversations” addresses new romance. You’ll pick up on the understated qualities of the lyrics and melodies. There’s an easy confidence born out of playing onstage for years.

“I just want to cut the best songs, whether they’re mine or not,” Alexander says. “If I happen to be able to write it, that’s great, but we’re in Nashville, so there are so many great songs out there.”
