Roman Alexander - Downtime

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1528068
Verse 1
Time for you, time for me
It's been far, few between
Life moves so fast, sometimes it's hard
So tonight I wanna start

Chorus
Catching up on downtime
No one else around time
Don't you think it's 'bout time for something like that
Red wine on the table
What you say we lay low?
We can let today go out like a match
I know that we got all damn night
But I'm wishing I could slow down time
Burn up on the moonlight
Baby just you and I
Catching up on downtime

Verse 2
Nowhere to be, nothing to do
Except a few things that we've been meaning to
Yeah, if nobody hears from us it's only 'cause

Chorus
We're catching up on downtimе
No one else around timе
Don't you think it's 'bout time for something like that
Red wine on the table
What you say we lay low?
We can let today go out like a match
I know that we got all damn night
But I'm wishing I could slow down time
Burn up on the moonlight
Baby just you and I
Catching up on downtime

Bridge
The world can keep going
Round and around
There's no better moment
Than right here, right now
For catching up on downtime, oh

Chorus
I know that we got all damn night
But I'm wishing I could slow down time
Burn up on the moonlight
Baby just you and I
Catching up on downtime
Even if it takes all night
Baby, that'd be alright
'Cause we're catching up on downtime
Hmmm

Biography

edit bio
There’s a photo of Roman Alexander at 7 years old on stage with a full-sized guitar in hand and a look in his smile saying “This is where I’m meant to be.”

Now in his early 20s, Alexander has nearly two decades of performing. The first songs he learned on guitar were “Ring of Fire” and “Folsom Prison Blues,” thanks to a childhood love of Johnny Cash. His mother’s love for of Elvis Presley was also influential and you can hear the clever references to the King in his songs.

Alexander moved to Nashville to get his music heard. He posted his performances and gained a strong following, which led to him signing a publishing and development deal with Twelve 6 Entertainment. He began working with Jerry Flowers, a top writer in Nashville and Keith Urban’s bandleader, on refining his songwriting and elevating his live show.

Alexander’s new single “Cocktail Conversations” addresses new romance. You’ll pick up on the understated qualities of the lyrics and melodies. There’s an easy confidence born out of playing onstage for years.

“I just want to cut the best songs, whether they’re mine or not,” Alexander says. “If I happen to be able to write it, that’s great, but we’re in Nashville, so there are so many great songs out there.”
