Verse 1: Ultra Naté
Where did we go wrong?
Where did we lose our faith?
My brother is in need
But can he depend on me
Do you think if one of you tried
Maybe you could find
A better friend than any other?
If you gave more than you took
Life could be so good
Come on and try
Now's the time

Chorus: Ultra Naté
'Cause you're free
To do what you want to do
You've got to live your life
Do what you want to do
'Cause you're free
To do what you want to do
You've got to live your life
Do what you want to do

Chant: Ultra Naté
Do what you want
Do what you wanna do
Do what you want
Do what you wanna do
Do what you want
Do what you wanna do
Do what you want
Do what you wanna do
Do what you want
Do what you wanna do
Do what you want
Do what you wanna do

Biography

edit bio
Ultra Nate is known for her oft-husky delivery, forceful vocals, and club-ready beats. She released her debut album, Blue Notes in the Basement, in 1991 to critical praise, and continued to release records that were praised and popular in clubs throughout the ‘90s.

She achieved more mainstream fame with the release of her 1997 dance anthem “Free,” which rose to the Top 5 in Italy, Scotland, and the UK and topped the US Dance Club Songs chart (a chart on which Nate has held seven number-ones). The accompanying album, Situation:Critical, was a top 20 album in the UK and garnered more fervent praise than any of her previous releases. The album spawned another dance hit as well: “Found a Cure.”

In 2001 she followed up Situation with Stranger Than Fiction, a concept album about love. The album drew less positive reviews and failed to chart, but it spawned two more Dance Club number-ones: “Get It Up” & “Desire.” Her next record, Grime, Silk, & Thunder, was released in 2007 and featured the Pointer Sisters cover and club play-topper “Automatic,” which rose to fame in part thanks to its risqué video. She continues to release music, some of which achieves club success.
