Biography

Madeline Lapis Serket (professionally known as Madi Serket) is an experimental genderfluid musician from Northeast Ohio. Her music covers the basis of many genres, but is rooted in and has always been inspired by hip hop tendancies. Some of her biggest influences include ilysm, Slowdive, traceybrakes, David Bowie, BROCKHAMPTON, Björk, Far, JID, Alex G, and Sufjan Stevens.

She is a part of numerous collectives, all of which being internet-based. The most important of which is B.A.A.D. Music, an imprint founded by Madi and including numerous of her close collaboraters and friends such as ENTRTNMNT, Sir Peet The Little, NPR, Daybreak, Ash Gibbons, and of course her partner Storm. Other collectives she is publicly associated with include Wells Fargo Collective run by hacktivist maia arson crimew, Collective run by multimedia artist rev, & Spraypaint Gang which is a newer collective formed by Madi Serket and including many of her non-B.A.A.D. affiliated musical friends.

Madi formerly made music under the pseudonyms 23 Heathrow (2019-2020), Matt Summington
(2020-2022), & Prexinon (2020-2021). Her music under Matt Summington is still partially available on streaming services despite Madi’s disowning of its older contents.

Madi’s eclectic genre-bending and experimental recklessness have been praised by the few that have heard her. Instagram review page @krystalviews has said of Madi’s music in their review of her album Madi Summington Vs The World, “Her mixing is amateurish, she’s definitely no Celine Dion on the mic, and her sonic ideas are all over the place. THAT’S WHAT MAKES HER ART BEAUTIFUL YOU FUCKING BOZO.”
