Biography

edit bio
Michael Ian Olmo (b. March 25, 1999), better known by his stage name iann dior, is a recording artist from Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He moved to Corpus Christi, Texas at a young age, where he grew up for most of his early life.

He began releasing music in 2017 under the mononym Olmo, and stage name Lil Rock, though his come-up is a blur due to having it seemingly covered following his signing.

With his first release under Internet Money for “cutthroat,” iann worked with producer Nick Mira who has produced for artists such as Juice WRLD, XXXTENTACION and Lil Skies. He has worked with artists such as Bernard Jabs and PnB Rock on his tracks “molly” and “romance361” respectively.

iann quickly gained attention in early 2019, with him signing to TenThousand Projects in the following April.

On November 8, 2019, iann dropped his debut studio album, Industry Plant. The project included featured artists such as Trippie Redd, Gunna and Travis Barker on the tracks “gone girl,” “Strings” and “Darkside” respectively.

The artist planned releasing his first studio EP, I’m Gone on June 5, 2020. However, due to tumultuous conditions particularly in the United States around the time with the #BlackLivesMatter movement, iann dior postponed the release of the EP to June 12, 2020. This project contained features with artists such as Travis Barker and Machine Gun Kelly.

iann dior and his friend 24kGoldn released a collaboration single named “Mood” on July 24, 2020. Both have previously worked together on albums such as Industry Plant and nothings ever good enough. During the week ending October 24, 2020, “Mood” peaked at #1 on the Hot 100. It is both 24kGoldn and iann dior’s first song to top the chart.
