Derek Pope - Famous

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1625881
Chorus
Up late, sleeping on my feet
Candy cane but shit ain’t sweet
Out the bag the cats on me
Rains if all the dogs don’t eat
One man’s bread another’s feast
Pick the flesh between my teeth
Don’t know where I’m supposed to be
Don’t know where I’m supposed to be

Bridge
They don’t really speak my language
Way too many you wanna be famous
Way too many you wanna be dangerous
I’m so tired man of hearing the same shit

Verse
And the funny thing is
Nevermind I’m the only one laughing out loud
Offa lickety split
Now they look me up just to say look at you now
Yea it is what it isn’t
Evеrything changed in an instant
I can see the world from a distance
I want morе than that I’m ambitious

Chorus
Up late, sleeping on my feet
Candy cane but shit ain’t sweet
Out the bag the cats on me
Rains if all the dogs don’t eat
One man’s bread another’s feast
Pick the flesh between my teeth
Don’t know where I’m supposed to be
Don’t know where I’m supposed to be

Outro
Who put the blame on us
Who put the pain on us
I think the drugs caught up
I need the love too much
I need to feel something
I need my mind turned off
I think my high wore off
Watch how the lows creep up now

edit bio
Derek Pope is a musician who has taken the road less traveled in pursuit of his unique sound. Born and raised in Oakland, California, Pope discovered his passion for music at a young age. In high school, he delved into beat production, spending countless hours perfecting his craft and laying the foundation for what would become his signature sound.

It wasn't until 2015 that Pope decided to experiment with singing, a decision that would ultimately lead him to redefine his musical style. After creating a few demos, Pope realized that he had stumbled upon something special. His lyrics, particularly the line "Looking at the ceiling, thinking I could make a million," resonated with listeners and set the stage for what was to come.

In 2015, Pope released his debut EP, Sunken City Redux, which featured the hit single "Raincoats." The track showcased Pope's ability to seamlessly blend elements of indie rock, pop, and trap, creating a sound that was uniquely his own. With his self-produced beats and introspective lyrics, Pope has managed to carve out a niche for himself in the music industry, pushing the boundaries of what is considered mainstream.

Derek Pope's music is a reflection of his journey as an artist, constantly evolving and challenging the status quo. With each new release, he continues to push the envelope and defy expectations, solidifying his place as a rising star in the music world.
