Christian Fletcher - Functions

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1936659
Verse 1
I can’t find north so I’m heading west
The Song of Eli, no protected vest
This book is clean but nigh, we find unrest
I’m done with press but time is pressed for chest
But it doesn’t matter anymore
A global confusion nailing down the doors
Put a Band-Aid on the phrase “no more”
You can bet I can’t live synth-born

Chorus
Cause a while ago we functioned (functioned)
A society production (lusting)
Hey, high schooler won’t you listen to my song
Drop a random name and hope it lasts long
So long

Verse 2
It’s almost funny when you think about it
The gym is fun before you think about it
And when you do you wanna quit the crowd and ask for cleanse to make you proud of getting over, break a cloud, then
Float high, I remember liking Stalls then
Now it feels so odd to even try to mention
All my friends now say they miss my old songs
My old tracks were trash can we just agree upon it
What are phones but just a deity? (I don’t know)
The second track up on your LCD (I don’t know)
And if you’d quickly come to follow me, you would find the LTE is substitute for living free
I didn’t add any depth, now I realize
Edifying vibes on daytime electric highs
About high time the sky becomes a tide
This guys ties lies up in his faithful eyes

Chorus
Cause a while ago we functioned (now we’re back to punch shit)
A society production
Hey, high schooler won’t you listen to my song
Drop a random name and hope it lasts long
So long

Bridge
I have a second identity, maybe I don’t but I swear it’s a part of me
No centipede leg for a piece of my mind, would you pay for a mental week mentally?
No days I’m skipping out, pacing
So play the beat that I’m taking
I’m faking out and I’m baking
Maybe get a minute in the second lane, take it
Have I got your attention now?
I don’t care if you get found
Maybe I could slow it down for you just to hear this sound
Ay, okay let’s cross this bridge, take it over again and maybe this one wins

Chorus
Cause a while ago we functioned (cause a while ago we functioned)
A society production
Hey, high schooler will you listen to my song
Drop a random name and hope it lasts long

Outro
(hope it’s new)
Cause a while ago we functioned
(hope you do)
A society production (can’t believe we got here)
Hey, high schooler will you listen to my song
Drop a random name and hope it lasts long
Yuh, yuh, yuh, yuh, yuh, yuh, yuh, yuh
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha

Biography

edit bio
Previously known as “Stalls”, Christian Fletcher always aimed to bring a sound he’d built, but hadn’t kept. That’s why when “Functions” released following the release of Without Me, the final song of the Stalls project, he knew it would shock whoever was left.

“Come Down” is a continuation of that sound, a gateway song to the darker, more developed soundscape that he plans to bring to the table later this year.

10 hour studio days, conversations kept private, almost no one around to witness, he’ll pull out of the shadows with a certainty and clarity that scares the listener. Look out for any new projects soon right here.
