Charley Crockett - City of Roses

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1980584
Verse 1
We were in Louisiana
I remember it well
Cause my uncle was gamblin'
In a Shreveport hotel

Later that evenin'
We were Fortworth-bound
I saw the pretty red flowers
As he passed through a town

Well, we pulled on over
To get some fresh night air
And the sweet smell of roses
Lingered everywhere

There in the moonlight
On a brick-line street
Stood a pretty, young woman
She gave a flower to me

Chorus
There's a city of roses
Way back in the pines
I don't know if you know it
But it ain't hard to find
If you're comin' from Dallas
You just a-keep rollin' east
Till the City of Roses
Is all that you see
See Charley Crockett LiveGet tickets as low as $25 Verse 2
Maybe you've seen it
In a place that you go
On a downtown corner
Somebody sellin' a rose

Well, I bet you a dollar
I know where it's from
A little town in east Texas
You'd better get you one

Chorus
There's a city of roses
Way back in the pines
I don't know if you know it
But it ain't hard to find
If you're comin' from Dallas
You just a-keep rollin' east
Till the City of Roses
Is all that you see
