Holylight - Friend In Need
I could never let you know
That I made myself sad over you
Might wake your heart to see me so
Devoid of all things rational
An enigma
Oh I’d lie if I said I didn’t bend a bit for a signal
You cursed me with a memory
Of sunken eyes and patchouli
★ Chorus 1 ★
Forever sweet
My friend in need
Did you suffer, did you heal
When you said I was too perfect to be something real?
Forever sweet
My friend in need
★ Verse 2 ★
How could I have let you know
That I’m not composed and admirable
That my mind remains insatiable
Cause you were gone
Yet you didn’t let me go
★ Bridge ★
Forever sweet
My friend in need
Did you suffer, did you heal?
Did you suffer, did you heal?
★ Chorus 2 ★
Forever sweet
My friend in need
Make my heart bleed
It’s yours to keep

Biography
Through her first EP, ‘2016-17’, the 22-year-old independent artist initially dove into the depths of songwriting and arrangement. Composing ‘Hell’ at age seventeen and recording the current version in her first studio session two years later, the musician set an example of what was going to develop during the next few years, with ‘Cure’ and ‘Eternity’ soon following. Her current single, ‘Blossom’, is her most complex work so far, as it explores a vast landscape of musical themes and skilfully interwoven flower metaphors of weakness and growth. Alex is currently working on the next set of songs, all while finishing her English Literature major, and hopes to soon fully combine both of her passions through her delicate art.
