The Big Push - Englishman in New York

I don't take coffee, I take tea, my dear
(Tea my dear)
I'd like my toast done on one side
(On one side)
You can hear it in my accent when I talk
I'm an Englishman in New York
See me walking down Fifth Avenue
(Avenue)
Walking cane here by my side
(By my side)
I take it with me everywhere that I walk
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien
I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien
I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
If "manners makеth man" as some might say
(Someone say)
Hе's the hero of the day
(Hero of the day)
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say
Takes more than combat gear to make a man
(Make a man)
Takes more than a license to a gun
(License to a gun)
Befriend your enemies, confront them when you can
A gentleman must walk but never run
Oh, I'm an alien
I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien
I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Be yourself no matter what they say
Be yourself no matter what they say
Be yourself no matter what they say
Be yourself no matter what they say
Oh, I'm an alien
I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Oh, I'm an alien
I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York

Brighton based band The Big Push are comprised of songwriting trio Ren, Romain Axisa and Gorran Kendall. Drawing elements from classic brit-bands like The Beatles or The Police, they craft their clever modern arrangements into insanely catchy pop tunes. The three met drummer Glenn Chambers busking, and formed as a band in the vibrant seaside town of Brighton. Coming from four fairly different backgrounds, they have managed to create a tasteful and original sound.
