Jonathan Plevyak - The Drive In

Another Friday night
Trying to get it right
I’m so excited to see you
Well I’m racing against the clock
My hearts gonna stop
If I don’t make it there to see you
So I pull up to your place
For our first date
Wipe the sweat off my brow
And I meet your old man
He shakes me by the hand
Asks me where i’m taking you

I said we’re going to the drive in
We're just friends
I’ll have her back home by 9
I promise she’s in good hands
With a good man
Just wanna make her smile tonight
So we’re going to the drive in

Yeah we’re cruising through town
With the windows down
Dancing in the summer air
Oh I almost ran a red
You were messing with my head
It’s so hard not to stare
Well we find a place to park
Before it gets dark
Front row for the silver screen
Then you scoot on over
Just to get closer
And leave a kiss on my cheek
Yeah you kissed me at the drive in
Are we just friends?
Or could this be a true love thing?
Will you let me know?
Will you say it’s so?
Will you go steady with me?
Going steady at the drive in

When the credits roll, I take you home
I ride off in a dream
Then I tell myself to take it slow
But I can’t wait to see you again…

I fell in love at the drive in
We fell in love at the drive in

Biography

edit bio
Jonathan Plevyak is a retro minded rock & soul singer-songwriter living in Nashville, TN. Feeling burnt out by modern, fast paced digital pop culture, Plevyak started down a rabbit hole in late 2022 immersing himself in records and artists from the 50’s & 60’s. Pulling inspiration from the greats such as Elvis, Johnny Cash, Sam Cooke, & Billie Holiday, Plevyak wrote an entire record of songs that feel planted in that era. Plevyak assembled a crew of his talented friends in Nashville to make the record. Choosing to record the music live together in the same room, using vintage gear and microphones, the self produced album called “Made In The Shade” sounds like a vinyl record straight off the record store shelves in the 1950s . The first single “Wild, Love” will make it’s debut in February, 2023 followed by releasing a consistent stream of vintage music, delivering high energy live shows across Music City, as well as a retro soaked social media branding style to evoke a lost time.

Rooted in nostalgia, Plevyak’s music goal is to make you miss a time you never experienced.
