Evan Page - Where It Starts

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/2061955
verse 1
Maybe lately
I've been feeling tired, feeling down on my luck
Not lazy lazy
But i stood in the quicksand too long and i'm stuck
They ask why i'm here still
I say i don't want the thrill
It's chill, i got time to kill
I know that deep down
I hate it hate it
Knowing i should just get up

verse 2
Baby baby
If you ask me how i am you know that i'm gonna bluff
I know it's crazy crazy
But everything i knew it went and turned into dust
They ask why i'm here still
I say that i got my fill
And it's chill
But really it's because
Daily daily
The car's growing more rust

chorus
I've been feeling so crestfallen
Nothing can compare to what it used to be
Maybe if i'm being honest
I could see myself somewhere eventually
In a place where the sun always shines
And it's fun and it's bright
And we don't need to fight, whoa
This is where it starts
I'm gonna fly like an arrow in the dark

verse 3
My vision was hazy hazy
I couldn't see clear but now i can clearly see
I'm in a mercedes-cedes
Stuck in the gears, but now i'm in the front seat
They ask what changed
I say i'm at the wheel today
I wave and race away
Then i realize what's fading, fading
The rust in the car in the dark under stars driving far is obsolete

chorus
I've been feeling so crestfallen
Nothing can compare to what it used to be
Now i feel the engine starting
So take my hand and come on this ride with me
To a place where the sun always shines
And it's fun and it's bright
And we don't need to fight, whoa
Yeah this is where it starts
I'm gonna fly like an arrow in the dark

bridge
I was feeling so crestfallen
Nothing could compare to what it was before
Then i felt the engine starting
Now all i want is more

chorus
I was feeling so crestfallen
Nothing could compare to what it used to be
But now i got the engine starting
So take my hand and come on this ride with me
To a place where the sun always shines
And it's fun and it's bright
And we don't need to fight, whoa
Yeah this is where it starts
I'm gonna fly like an arrow in the dark

Biography

edit bio
my name’s Evan Page and I make indie pop music. my first song, you never know, is out now on all streaming platforms – go listen to it after you read this!

i was born in Nebraska, but I’ve spent most of my childhood (so far) in a small town in northern Idaho. this has definitely influenced my musical sound, as there’s lots of indie music around. as far as influences go, music by FINNEAS, Taylor Swift, Electric Guest, and the Beatles has helped me develop my indie pop sound.

from an early age, I played the piano and guitar, which I still love playing to this day. around age nine, I started making songs on Garageband in my room. those songs eventually started getting better and better, and my lyrics did too. speaking of – lyrics are a big part of my songwriting process. i think a song can have a great beat or a pumping bass, but great lyrics make a great song. anyways, from the songs i created in my room emerged a few i wanted to improve on, one of those being a song called ‘you never know.’ i took it to a producer and we made into the song you hear today.

go listen to my debut single, you never know, on spotify, apple music, or wherever you stream music, and see the music video on youtube! there’s a lot to come…
