Cassidy Mackenzie - What a Shame

What a shame
I think everyone I know by name
Can't pick up the phone
They're in a race
Everyone I know who's happy
Is over 28

Take a seat
Finally in 2023
Someone sat me down and made me see
I had missed the point of growing up
With hopes and dreams

(She told me)
I spent my whole life
(She told me)
Hoping for a sign
(She told me)
And God, did I feel blind
(She told me)
When I opened my eyes

We all know it hurts
"I want something morе"
We repeat thе words
"I want something more"
It pulls apart our point of view Hiding what's so close to you
We all know it hurts
"I want something more"
"I want something more"
"I want something more"
What a shame
Everyone I know still thinks this way
They're all making plans to feel so great
"Someday in the future I'll be something"
"You just wait"

Tell me why
Everyone is made to feel behind
Valued by our cash and contracts signed
What if it's enough to make your goal be peace of mind?

(She told me)
I spent my whole life
(She told me)
Hoping for a sign
(She told me)
And God, did I feel blind
(She told me)
When I opened my eyes

We all know it hurts
"I want something more"
We repeat the words
"I want something more"
It pulls apart our point of view
Hiding what's so close to you
We all know it hurts
"I want something more"
What a shame
What a shame

We all know it hurts
"I want something more"
We repeat the words
"I want something more"
It pulls apart our point of view
Hiding what's so close to you
We all know it hurts
"I want something more"
"I want something more"
"I want something more"
