R. Kelly - Not Supposed to Be

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/515497
Red is not supposed to be green light
Faiths not supposed to be seen
The skies not supposed to touch the ground
And a square is not supposed to be round
The moons not supposed to touch the sun
And a two is not supposed to be a one
Said the hearts not supposed to way a ton
And forevers not supposed to be done
Winters not supposed to come in June
And I am not supposed to have the blues
There are so many things that are not supposed to be, babe
Except you and me

So many things, there are so many things
(There are so many things)
So many things, there are so many things
(That are not supposed to be)
So many things, there are so many things
Oooh baby, except me and you

Nights not supposed to be lonely, yeah
Nobody is supposed to be alone
Understanding is not supposed to be confused
And a win is not supposed to lose
Like fires not supposed to freeze
A lite joy is not supposed to greave
Like you're not supposed to leave
What I said I'm not supposed to lead
He is not supposed to have your heart
Baby, we are not supposed to be apart
There are so many things that are not supposed to be, except you and me

So many things, there are so many things
(There are so many things)
So many things, there are so many things
(That are not supposed to be)
So many things, there are so many things
Yeah, baby

It seems just like no sessions changing
All this earth with no creation
All heart with no feelings
Or a sickness without a healing
Just like a frozen spring or bird with no wings
Just like a song outta key is how my life would be
Like the nice guys with no stars, a lonely broken heart
No holding hands, walks in the park
That's how how we'll be if we're apart

So many things, there are so many things
(There are so many things, yeah)
So many things, there are so many things
(Except our love)
So many things, there are so many things
(So many things that are not supposed to be)
So many things, there are so many things
(It's like having no air to breathe)
(Like having no words to preach)
(Like having no rain for the sea)
There are so many things that are not.... not supposed to be!
Not supposed to be, except you and me, baby
Yeah-yeah-yeah, baby, yeah, except you and me

edit bio
Robert Kelly, better known as R. Kelly, is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer hailing from the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. Born into a musically inclined family, Kelly began performing as a teenager under the “L” subway tracks in Chicago. His talent and passion for music led him to release his first album, Born Into the 90’s, in 1992 as a collaboration with Public Announcement. The album showcased R. Kelly's songwriting and producing skills, featuring hits like “Honey Love” and “Slow Dance.”

In 1993, R. Kelly ventured into a solo career with the release of his album 12 Play, which included popular tracks like “Bump N' Grind” and “Your Body’s Callin'.” His self-titled album in 1995 and the double album R. in 1998 further solidified his success in the music industry, with hits like “Down Low (Nobody Has To Know)” and the Grammy Award-winning song “I Believe I Can Fly.”

Throughout the ‘90s and 2000s, R. Kelly continued to dominate the music scene, not only with his own hits like “Ignition” and “Step in the Name of Love” but also as a sought-after producer for artists like Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, and Michael Jackson. Collaborations with artists like Lady Gaga and Jay-Z further showcased his versatility and appeal.

Despite his undeniable talent and success, R. Kelly's career was marred by controversy and legal troubles. In September 2021, he was convicted by a federal court in New York City on nine counts of racketeering and child sex trafficking. The conviction marked a dark chapter in R. Kelly's legacy, overshadowing his contributions to the music industry.

While his legal troubles have tarnished his reputation, R. Kelly's impact on R&B music cannot be denied. With a career spanning over 25 years, he has left an indelible mark on the industry and remains a polarizing figure in the world of music.
