Wednesday - here and human

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/630599
Verse 1
I sit at the edge of your bed
Wondering 'bout all the things that you said
Did you mean it when you told me
"You'd be better off dead"? (Better off dead)
The colors speak louder than words now
The fires will crackle and burn down
The slits on my wrists will return
Like the (?) of our old class clown

You said it would be easier
If you didn't love me so much
You think that you'd be better off
Losing all of the rush in our love, but
The colors speak louder than words
And even alone on this Earth
We see it inside of each other
That everything ends in rebirth

Chorus
'Cause baby underneath the sun
Smoking up our virgin lungs
Burning of the cigarettes
(?)
(?) here and human
Waiting to hear all of the music
That we shared, here and human
Loving me isn't human

Verse 2
Swear that when I left for good
(?) is for good
Loving you could be the best thing that ever happened
But colors I'm seeing are dark now
Covered in fading black sparks now
Losing my hope, I'll just lie on the ground

Chorus
'Cause baby underneath the sun
Smoking up our virgin lungs
Burning of the cigarettes
(?)
(?) here and human
Waiting to hear all of the music
That we shared, here and human
Loving me isn't human

Outro
I sit at the edge of your bed
Wondering 'bout all the things that you said
Did you mean it when you told me
"You'd be better off dead"? (Better off dead)

Biography

edit bio
Wednesday is an indie rock band based in Asheville, North Carolina that began releasing music in 2018. Originally a musical collaboration between University of North Carolina students Karly Hartzman and Daniel Gorham, the group expanded into its current iteration as a five-piece outfit composed of frontwoman Karly Hartzman (vocals/rhythm guitar/primary songwriter), Jake “MJ” Lenderman (lead guitar), Xandy Chelmis (lap steel guitar), Margo Schultz (bass), and Alan Miller (drums).

The band’s name Wednesday comes from Karly Hartzman and original member Daniel Gorham’s mutual appreciation of English jangle pop band The Sundays, especially their 1990 album Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. Yet The Sundays' soft guitar music is a far cry from Wednesday’s current musical output, which is mainly an amalgamation of ‘90s-inspired noisy slacker rock with elements of country and shoegaze … also known as “country-gaze.”
