Devon Hendryx

Devon Hendryx, also known as "The Rockwood Escape Plan," was a rapper and producer who was active in the music scene from around 2007 to 2012. During this time, he released five albums and experimented heavily with different genres, showcasing his versatility and talent as an artist.

Hendryx's first release, "Dreamcast Summer Songs," came out in 2009 and was created in 2007. This instrumental album utilized a sound that would later become known as Vaporwave, setting the stage for his future musical endeavors.

As he continued to evolve as an artist, Hendryx began incorporating rapping and production into his work. He released two hip hop albums, "JOECHILLWORLD" and "The Rockwood Escape Plan," in 2011 and 2012, respectively. His experimental approach and blunt wordplay gained him a dedicated online fanbase and solidified his reputation as a boundary-pushing artist.

In addition to his albums, Hendryx also released a few EPs, including "LISA" with Enso Sinatra and "Heart Emoji," although these projects have since been deleted and are considered less popular compared to his full-length releases.

Hendryx's final album under his original moniker was "THE GHOST POP TAPE," which came out in 2013. This project saw him moving away from traditional rapping and instead exploring an ethereal, droned-out vapor-wave-esque R&B sound, with themes of suicide prevalent throughout the record.

Following the release of "THE GHOST POP TAPE," Hendryx made the decision to change his name to JPEGMAFIA and launched a new Bandcamp page under his new alias. This marked a new chapter in his musical career, as he continued to push boundaries and experiment with his sound under his new identity. Through his work as Devon Hendryx and later as JPEGMAFIA, he has left a lasting impact on the music industry and continues to be celebrated for his innovative approach to music.
