My Epic - Northstar

Verse 1
Here in the midst, losing face and taking hits
Will you recognise what's left? (I wonder)
You place my hand upon your lips
Where that dog bit you as a kid and whisper
“Northstar, Sacred Heart, know me by my scars”

Chorus
We don’t fear the light, we face it
We don't tell the truth, we taste it
We don't share the blame, we place it
We don’t keep the peace

Verse 2
Fire in our chests and gleaming phosphorescent steps
Gleanеd from every past sunset
Each dilеmma turned new rosetta
Our hands and fates interlaced
And with our voices raised

Chorus
We don't fear the light, we face it
We don't tell the truth, we taste it
We don't share the blame, we place it
We don't keep the peace, we make it
Bridge
Midnight, and searching for a blue sky
Midstream, and I can feel the pull
Midlife, I've had a lot on my mind
Midwife, with both my hands full

High time for us to put it plainly
High tide, and everything's adrift
Low note, I'm leaning in and straining
Low light, and hard to read your lips

Last call come like a thousand trumpets
Last rites prayed as a last resort
Last gasp I finally found the courage
Last laugh when it was yours

My Epic

My Epic is a post-hardcore rock band from Charlotte, NC that was founded in 2005. Their sound ranges from the acoustic guitar picking with post-rock undertones that characterized their EP “Broken Voice” to the crashing, urgent, atmospheric sounds of full-lengths “Yet” and “Behold”. Another defining aspect of My Epic is lyricist and frontman Aaron Stone’s talent for penning deeply personal lyrics that often delve into the struggles with relating to God, ourselves, and others.
A self-described “band of Christians”, My Epic has stated that one of their main purposes in writing and playing music is creating what Stone calls “Thin Spaces” – places where listeners can connect to God in the most direct way and with the fewest distractions possible.
