Ella Eyre - Tell Me About It

To Rate
Intro
Tell me, tell me

Verse 1
Too many messages to exes
Too many X's in the text
He would call you crazy if you question
If she was anymore than a friend

Pre-Chorus
You tell me he's a liar
Well, girl, you're preaching to the choir
You know I hate to see you cry
Yeah, you know that, that I know about that

Chorus
Because I've been there, been hurt
I got the t-shirt
Ain't gotta tell me about it
But when you see him leaving
I know the feeling
Ain't gotta tell me about it
I know, know how it goes, no, it ain't fair
You thinking nobody cares
No, but I been there, been hurt
I got the t-shirt
Ain't gotta tell me about it
But tell me, tell me

Post-Chorus
I know
Ain't gotta tell me about it
Tell me, tell me

Verse 2
Never really got on with his mother
No, she never liked you all along
He was always turning you into the problem
Even when he knew that he was wrong

Pre-Chorus
You tell me he's a liar (Well he's a liar, baby)
Well, girl, you're preaching to the choir
You know I hate to see you cry
Yeah, you know I, that I know about that

Chorus
Because I've been there, been hurt
I got the t-shirt
Ain't gotta tell me about it
But when you see him leaving
I know the feeling
Ain't gotta tell me about it
I know, know how it goes, no, it ain't fair
You thinking nobody cares
No, but I been there, been hurt
I got the t-shirt
Ain't gotta tell me about it
But tell me, tell me

Post-Chorus
I know
Ain't gotta tell me about it
Tell me, tell me

Bridge
I've been there, I felt it
Not your fault, he's selfish
Over it, I'm over it
And trust me, I'll be over it, over
I'm telling you, I've been there, I felt it
Not your fault, he's selfish
Over it, I'm over it
And trust me, I'll be over it, be over it

Chorus
Because I've been there, been hurt
I got the t-shirt
Ain't gotta tell me about it
But when you see him leaving
I know the feeling
Ain't gotta tell me about it
I know, know how it goes, no, it ain't fair
You thinking nobody cares
No, but I been there, been hurt
I got the t-shirt
Ain't gotta tell me about it
But tell me, tell me

Post-Chorus
Yeah
Girl, I've been there
I know
Ain't gotta tell, no
Ain't gotta tell me about it

Ella Eyre

Combining neo-soul, pop, and R&B in one powerful, emphatic blend, British singer-songwriter Ella Eyre, born Ella McMahon, has been making recent waves with chart-impacting EDM hits and power anthems alike. Grown through the BRIT School system (like fellow artists Adele and Jessie J), Eyre first rose to prominence in 2012 via a feature on Bastille’s TLC/The xx mashup, titled “No Angels”. Mid-2013, she scored her first chart entry with up and coming drum and bass band Rudimental. Their collaboration, mammoth hit “Waiting All Night”, topped the UK Singles Chart and brought the artists a BRIT award for Single of the Year.

Now on the map, Eyre expanded her discography, featuring on tracks from both Naughty Boy and Tinie Tempah. Her first EP, Deeper, was released in late 2013 and her debut album, Feline, came a year and a half later. Ranging from Haddaway covers to breakup anthems to emotional questionnaires, the tracks on these works have pioneered Eyre’s sound and attracted a significant fanbase, dubbed “Eyreheads”.

Equipped with a raspy, honest voice combined with visceral emotion, Ella Eyre continues to gain further traction with the public eye and the music spectrum. One can only wonder what she will do next.
