Queen Drie - Mama

(intro)
Its drie...

Brown skin brown eyes you a part of my evidence
The genesis of a young queen killing my nemesis
And emphasis on the word queen you know i’m hella bent
On letting them know
I wasn’t always this confident

Fruit of your own womb i swear you carried me
Through all the trails be
You taught me cast my burdens unto him
So when i see you with a frown man it worries me
When i see you so sad it rocks my energy

I watched you mama on days i didn’t have school
On days i feigned all my symptoms just to be so close to you mama
I praise you mama for all you lived through and
How you beat the earth until it subdued, your praise is overdue
Betray you mama that’s som'n i ain't gon' do
I’ll portray your truth better van gogh
You know i will mama
For every tear you let drip down i’ll make it worth your while
For every tear i made you cry i’ll make it worth your while

I love you mama for every scar every battle every war
That you tackled every time he tried to rattle
Tryna put scars on you tryna deface you
Tryna erase you
But every time you win yeah
Every time you win yeah
From the moment that i lifted my eyes and i seen ya
Nothing ever been clearer
You the woman of my life
Stronger than a palm tree aye
Nothing could ever break ya

Brown skin brown eyes you a part of my eloquence
The evidence of a young queen killing my nemesis
And emphasis on the word queen you know i’m hella bent
On letting them know i wasn’t always this confident

Fruit of your own womb i swear you carried me
Through all the trails be
You taught me cast my burdens unto him
So when i see you with a frown man it worries me
When i see you so sad it rocks my energy
(ayee)

(outro)
I love you i love you i love you mama (aye)
For how you beat the earth until it subdued
Your praise is overdue

I love you i love you i love you mama (aye)
For how you beat the earth until it subdued
Your praise is overdue (aye)

I love you mama

Your praise is overdue

Queen Drie

Queen Drie, a relatively new Hip Hop and Rap artist, started creating music to contribute positively to art and black culture. Her songwriting and performing goal is to motivate and educate people about what it means to be Black and help alter their lives for the better.
Despite having such a set goal, Queen Drie’s music is made for everyone. This is why she self-categorizes it in a genre called “World.” As an artist who was born in Accra, Ghana, and now lives in Chicago, she knows a thing or two about different experiences, and her music reflects that.

Drie’s tracks are calm and refreshing, maintaining a vibe that’spositive yet punchy. Her fans love the sound of her arrangements while also the weight of her lyrics. The fact that there are so many people out there who love Rap with poignant lyrics motivates her to continue writing about real-world experiences.

Drie’s fans can get a taste of what her music’s all about through her song, Homosapien. This song explores and questions the human condition and experience in fresh ways while giving a beat to groove to.
Despite being new in the industry, this artist has performed live at the Summer Jam, hosted by 2wo Offishall, and “A Night with Pablozy,” held by the Nigerian artist Pablozy. While she’seager to get back on stage again, Drie’s currently focusing on developing her craft by exploring new and exciting sounds.
