Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1036595
Verse 1
Say i didn't want you
I came from the sky with my mind right
Smile act like i know you
You were poppin pills on your hill
I've been, northern california
Now im in the field with the hunters on me
Baby im a loner
And no i don't ❲?❳

Pre-Chorus 1
Are you there
Close to getting me out on my
I've done my time

Chorus
We were young kids just in the mood
Gotta little bit of summer money i knew i was stealing it all
All these different shapes i don't feel the wave
Just the height of the fall
Lеt me die young evеn if they gotta scrape me off of the wall

Verse 2
Each and every morning
You get up and make yourself ready for the
Menacing emotion
Figure where your life was as simple as
Drowning in the ocean
You dont want the love from my heart though
Maybe im loner
See i just want devotion oh

Pre-Chorus 2
Ive been told
Love is just a thing ❲?❳
Could we go quick now im sick and old
I dont know maybe we're out of control

Chorus
We were young kids just in the mood
Gotta little bit of summer money i knew i was stealing it all
All these different shapes i don't feel the wave
Just the height of the fall
Let me die young even if they gotta scrape me off of the wall

edit bio
Derek Pope is a musician who has taken the road less traveled in pursuit of his unique sound. Born and raised in Oakland, California, Pope discovered his passion for music at a young age. In high school, he delved into beat production, spending countless hours perfecting his craft and laying the foundation for what would become his signature sound.

It wasn't until 2015 that Pope decided to experiment with singing, a decision that would ultimately lead him to redefine his musical style. After creating a few demos, Pope realized that he had stumbled upon something special. His lyrics, particularly the line "Looking at the ceiling, thinking I could make a million," resonated with listeners and set the stage for what was to come.

In 2015, Pope released his debut EP, Sunken City Redux, which featured the hit single "Raincoats." The track showcased Pope's ability to seamlessly blend elements of indie rock, pop, and trap, creating a sound that was uniquely his own. With his self-produced beats and introspective lyrics, Pope has managed to carve out a niche for himself in the music industry, pushing the boundaries of what is considered mainstream.

Derek Pope's music is a reflection of his journey as an artist, constantly evolving and challenging the status quo. With each new release, he continues to push the envelope and defy expectations, solidifying his place as a rising star in the music world.
