Layin' up somewhere in the desert
Rock bottom of the golden state
Pappy and Harriet's is little
But what you working really ain't
You blow a little smoke in my face
My inhibitions evaporate

Don't you look special
Don't you look sweet
Cooking up something I wanna eat
Whatever shit that you're on
I gotta contact high
And now you're crawling up on the bar
You make a dead man grab his heart
I gotta contact high

You blew a fortune on a startup
That desert dust went to your head
You say wanna go to Marfa
You're tired of following the Dead
So raise a bottle up make up a toast
And shake thе hand of the holy ghost

Don't you look special
Don't you look sweet
Cooking up something I wanna еat
Whatever shit that you're on
I gotta contact high
And now you're dancing up on the bar
You make the young dogs grab their heart
See Better Than Ezra LiveGet tickets as low as $29Well yeah
I was in the desert for awhile
But it's spiritual, you know
Like Sedona and the vortexes

Don't you look special
Don't you look sweet
Cooking up something I wanna eat
Whatever shit that you're on
I gotta contact high

And now your reaching out for my guitar
As you're falling right off the bar
You shoulda seen the look on your face
When I floated off to outer space
I gotta contact high
Contact high
I've got a contact high
I've got a contact high
I'm making contact

Biography

edit bio
Better than Ezra is a college rock group in the literal sense – it was formed by four students at Louisiana State University in 1988. Two of those four – Kevin Griffin (vocals and guitar) & Tom Drummond (bass guitar) – have been the constant core of the group. The third, guitarist Joel Rundell, died before the group signed its first recording contract. The fourth, drummer Cary Bonnecaze, left the group acrimoniously after their first major-label album went platinum.

Griffin and Drummond decided to keep Better than Ezra going by hiring a new guitarist/keyboardist, James Arthur Payne Jr., and a new drummer, Travis McNabb. McNabb left on good terms in 2009, and Michael Jerome took over the drums.
