The WAEVE - You Saw

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1997367
Rose Elinor Dougall, Graham Coxon, both

At last, we held a strange power
There's no escape
We live among the stars
Suddenly all that changed

You saw the loving arms
Of all of your past mistakes
You saw the loving arms
Of all of your old heartaches

They call out to you
Trying to pull you back

You saw the loving arms
Of all of those last midnights
You saw the loving arms
Of all of those dragged up fights

Then you hang along
And made everything more bright

I still can't believe it
My ❲?❳
As the shadows recede
You can't deny
Our stars align
You saw the loving arms
The streets where you once ran wild
You saw thе loving arms
Of all that unreconciled

They call out to you
Trying to pull you back

And I still can't bеlieve it
My ❲?❳
As the shadows recede
You can't deny
Our stars align

And I still can't believe it
My ❲?❳
As the shadows recede
You can't deny
Our stars align

Are torn in two (❲?❳)
Oh, what a lovely thing to do (Lovely thing)
With the light just passed me through (Ah)
Oh, I'll be there forever too (Ah)
But for now, I've made a tribute (Ah)
You give in to love
You give in to love
You give in to love
You give in to love
No matter the darkness

You give in to love
You give in to love
You give in to love
You give in to love
You give in to love
No matter the darkness
(No matter the darkness)
(No matter the darkness)
No matter the darkness
No matter the darkness
No matter the darkness
No matter the darkness

A collaborative project between Graham Coxon, the guitarist of Blur and Rose Elinor Dougall, ex-Pipettes member.
They performed their launch show at the Lexington on May 4th.

They came together after exchanging messages during the lockdown Christmas of 2020. They soon started writing songs before their collaboration “gave rise to an unexpected sonic universe” (Via NME)

They released a statement on Instagram:
“The coming together of two musicians, who through working together have formed a new, singular, sonic identity. Themes of oblivion and surrender are juxtaposed with suggestions of hopefulness and light.
Against a brutal global backdrop of impending apocalypse and despair, Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall strove to free themselves through the defiant, blind optimism of making music.”
