The WAEVE - Sunrise

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1997368
Verse 1 - Graham Coxon
Pretty baby, can it be true?
All of my dreams wrapped up in you
Where did you come from? Circling the room
All of my life, waiting for you

Chorus - Rose Elinor Dougall
Wider the sunrise
Over again
Brighter, the sunrise
Over again

Verse 2 - Rose Elinor Dougall
You'd never had it so blue
You can't believe your luck
Help us one, square it up
Against the hurt of this world

Chorus - Rose Elinor Dougall & Graham Coxon
Wider the sunrise
Over again
Brighter, the sunrise
Over again

Wider the sunrise
Over again
Brighter, the sunrise
Over again
Wider the sunrise
Over again
Brighter, the sunrise
Over again

"The WAEVE - Sunrise" is a dreamy and ethereal song that captures the feeling of new beginnings and hope. The song opens with Graham Coxon questioning the arrival of a special person in his life, expressing his disbelief and joy at finally finding them. Rose Elinor Dougall joins in the chorus, singing about the beauty and brightness of each new day, symbolized by the sunrise.

In the second verse, Dougall sings about the profound impact this newfound love has had on her, bringing light and positivity into her life. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the idea of the sunrise representing a fresh start and a chance to leave behind the darkness of the past.

The combination of Coxon's introspective vocals and Dougall's angelic voice creates a magical and uplifting atmosphere, making "The WAEVE - Sunrise" a soothing and comforting track that reminds listeners of the endless possibilities that each day brings.

A collaborative project between Graham Coxon, the guitarist of Blur and Rose Elinor Dougall, ex-Pipettes member.
They performed their launch show at the Lexington on May 4th.

They came together after exchanging messages during the lockdown Christmas of 2020. They soon started writing songs before their collaboration “gave rise to an unexpected sonic universe” (Via NME)

They released a statement on Instagram:
“The coming together of two musicians, who through working together have formed a new, singular, sonic identity. Themes of oblivion and surrender are juxtaposed with suggestions of hopefulness and light.
Against a brutal global backdrop of impending apocalypse and despair, Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall strove to free themselves through the defiant, blind optimism of making music.”
