Eleventyseven - Damage

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/403879
Verse 1
You nail your crosses to your prom queens
Youth grown in a closet full of bones
Left over from your sad nights at nineteen
Slice toes just to fit glass slippers
On your next stepsister with a rap sheet
All toast to the last man standing on your graveyard planet
Yeah we might be
All cut from the same broken glass
The same broken past, yeah

Chorus
All I can do, make this promise to you
That my damage could be your damage, too
Can you manage the mood when the panic ensues?
Yeah, my damage could be your damage, too
Could be your damage
Could be your damage

Verse 2
Sharp words from the soft life
Hard dreams woke you up soaking wet
Black magic in your sweat for the next life
Have you come under threat from the home
Militia in your mind's eye
First kiss under moonlight
Hot tears from a sad song
Maybe that's what the flood's like
Cool water on your brimstone

Chorus
All I can do, make this promise to you
That my damage could be your damage, too
Can you manage the mood when the panic ensues?
Yeah, my damage could be your damage, too
Could be your damage
Could be your damage

Chorus
All I can do, make this promise to you
That my damage could be your damage, too
Can you manage the mood when the panic ensues?
Yeah, my damage could be your damage, too
Could be your damage
Could be your damage

I've been down in the well too Soaked to the bone in sorrow They don't make enough drugs to Fill up a hole that hollow It feels like they want you To smile back

Mama told her Don't go chasing rings They put you out to pasture When they get down on one knee Oh baby girl I used to dream like you But just cause daddy pays

Sisyphus and the boulder Getting mixed up messages Out here pushing for closure Sick of being told to Get ass, get cash, get blasted Up till the casket knows you

None of my thoughts make any sense But that's just how I'm feeling None of my words are coherent Or loaded with a meaning But this is my life All day and all

I wear every chapter of my history right here upon my shoulder A helpless captain of some mystery my eyes already told ya You've seen the ending of the movie, there's nothing to

Eleventyseven - Side Hug
Juggling the weight of the mandate Bubble to the top like a phosphate Trauma still modeled in my chest X-ray, yeah Wobble like a VHS on the replay Struggle with a puzzle
