Brandon Ratcliff - Tale Of Two Towns

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1152751
intro
This ❲?❳ wreckage was once the thriving little town of cotton valley, louisiana. once again, an american town faces the task of rebuilding from the ground up

verse 1
Got friends back there, went from kids to fathers
Just like their fathers went from raising hell to raising daughters
It's blue jersey straight to blue collars
Don't dream no farther than that city limit sign
I feel a little free, feel a little guilty
'cause i grew a little bit, and now it don't fit me
Gotta give it credit for the man i am
But i gotta lot of questions on the other hand

chorus
Did my parents settle when they settled down?
Are you more brave for leaving or sticking around?
It's one dot on a map, but a tale of two towns
Thank god i grew up there, thank god i got out

verse 2
Sometimes i wonder who i'd had married
Would i be happy barely if i stayed?
Thought of waiting another year straight up scares me
'cause there comes a time when it's too late
And that muddy water turns into quicksand
And you say you're gonna leave, but you know can't

chorus
Did my parents settle when they settled down?
Are you more brave for leaving or sticking around?
It's one dot on a map, but a tale of two towns
Thank god i grew up there, thank god i got out

bridge
It's all in the way that you look at those memories
If that water tower's half full
Or half empty

chorus
Did my parents settle when they settled down?
Are you more brave for leaving or sticking around?
It's one dot on a map, but a tale of two towns
Thank god i grew up there, thank god i got out
Thank god i grew up there, thank god i got out
Thank god i grew up there, thank god i got out

Biography

edit bio
Brandon Ratcliff is a 24 year old singer-songwriter and artist from Cotton Valley, Louisiana. Son of Suzanne Cox of the legendary Cox Family, he was surrounded by music and began to hone his craft from a very young age. His talents quickly attracted the music business machine in Nashville, but at the age of 20, he decided to turn down a publishing deal and work on his craft….he would not take the quick and easy route. In the process of finding great co-writing partners, he befriended Pete Good (producer and co-writer) and AJ Babcock (co-writer) who would go on to become his closest friends outside of the studio. Together, they honed Ratcliff’s musical talent drawing from country, R&B and classic rock to Ratcliff’s personal inspirations such as Stevie Wonder and John Mayer. Eventually, Grammy-award winning producer Shane McAnally teamed up with them, and the result is a bold, fresh look at the seasons of relationships delivered by an artist with a clear point of view and a distinctive sound.
